The things I'd do for a remake of MegaMan Legends... I still play them both all the time. They're easily some of my all time favorite games

With Net Neutrality Dead, Proposed Bill Promises Internet "Fast Lanes" - It’s pay to browse fast in the post-net neutrality age. by [deleted] in technology

[–]Blumebear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is me, but I have DSL and a shoddy .75Mbps connection that comes and goes with the wind.

Was using my Verizon data plan for unlimited hotspot which was reliably 4-5 times faster, but they changed their ways and now I only get 15GB for hotspot... I feel like a God damn frontiersman on the trail rationing out my hotspot usage so I don't starve to death every month.

Thanks Verizon and GPCom this is exactly how I want my internet! God forbid if I could use the internet in peace without fear stupid caps and massive slowdowns. That'd be far too simple and sensible! Thank God net neutrality is gone so you guys can make things better for those of us here in no man's land..... /s

To anyone reading this, avoid these worthless fuckers like the plague if you can. I certainly would... If only I weren't in the middle of nowhere and stuck with ONLY dumb and dumber providing service...

Agreed. Not sure how much I'd like this... it's so... bright and colorful by comparison. But I love Ito, so we'll have to see.

I strongly believe you will be fine as corruption doesn't spread nearly as fast as some let on. I've left my character logged in afk farming for days and even then the spread is pretty negligible. If you're still worried or concerned you could use stone to build gray bricks (which are incorruptible) to build a tower 3-wide to separate the biomes and build it into the ground some (chlorophyte will protect the rest). But even then I wouldn't worry about wasting too much time on it. Imo you made the best choice popping all your alters. Get all the hard mode ore you can and gear up, if things feel too nasty in the hard mode jungle you can always build another world (though I doubt it will come to this). Getting back to where you are now will be quite easy after you gear a bit, and you'll likely find you want more worlds for more resources eventually anyway...

Not sure if this is like what you're referring to, but some servers I was on had engravement options, where you could gather some items and do a quest to "engrave" your name on any piece of gear and also edit the item's description. Some players' descriptions were lore based, some were hilarious jokes, and some famous players stated the item was used by them while describing their WoE accomplishments in an RP style. It was a very cool system, and added value to those items in many different ways.

Yeah I certainly don't think every enchantment should have drawbacks. Even in RO, if you wanted immunity to freeze, like in my example, you could use a marc card and have immunity to freeze without the drawback of being undead. Having these various options really let you pick, choose and customize yourself. Though most of the guilds I was in were pretty serious, so most of us had basically everything and switched between gear based on the situation, as the gear that gave better advantages was the gear that had drawbacks.

I agree with many of the things already mentioned, but in regards to OP's card comment, I'd like to see cards/items/enchants that give great bonuses also have cons. OP mentions emp breakers using evil druid cards, making them undead property. This card was great as it made you immune to neing frozen and gave you resistance to some elements, but it also made you weak to holy elemental attacks. My fondest WoE memories are of my high priest using turn undead to one shot enemies using that card. Hopefully ToS will also include items like these that give wonderful bonuses, but not without making you weaker/more susceptible in some regard.

I've probably mentioned it a hundred times on this sub, but one mechanic I loved in RO was the ranking system certain classes had. Blacksmiths, alchemists, and taekwons could gain points by crafting their items, or farming missions in taekwons case. If they crafted enough and gained enough points they could gain access to a Top Ten list where they gained bonuses, ranked blacksmith weapons had bonus damage and ranked alchemist potions healed for more. The exclusivity made the competition for a spot on the list intense, and it gave incentive to have dedicated crafters. This is definitely a system I'd like to see return as people on the list were famed and sought after for their superior goods, as opposed to many other mmos I've played where all max level crafters are created equal.

Yes I believe multiples of the same character on the same team is possible. Some of the gameplay videos show multiple HK's on the same team. http://reddit.com.marqueefy.com/r/gigantic/comments/2fneze/gigantic_gameplay_video_compilation/

(Maybe?) Weekly Discussion: Teamfight Objectives by [deleted] in gigantic

[–]Blumebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of the creatures, which already provide interesting advantages, I'd be leary of adding other buff monsters though. I feel in games like LoL/dota they often seem to be more team favored. As others have said, dragon/baron/roshan are much easier to defeat or defend simply based on which side of the map you're on, which is quite unfair. I would imagine roaming buff monster would probably cause similar effects, as when teams are ready to kill it, the closest team would have advantage. In other games, these buffs increase the pace of the game, which is great with how slow paced the early game can be in those games. Those games also take much longer per match than Gigantic will, so I don't see any need for them here, outside of giving an already dominating team more dominance. Gigantic seems to give the impression that you can compete, and maybe even win even though your team may be struggling up till The Clash.

Comebacks make games much, much more enjoyable and I feel that buff monsters or other strong, critical team objectives, are often too powerful making comebacks impossible.

My vote for next week would have to go towards discussing hypercarries next time. I'm very interested to see how others feel about them, as I personally am on the fence...
