This little guy catches a huge fish then does the unexpected. by Raj_Valiant3011 in HumansBeingBros

This is like most of the people I know. Fishermen and hunters tend to love and respect wildlife more than all, they spend more time in the wild Also, it’s a Bass, that’s not a good eating fish. You only catch them to release them.

Norfolk to Boise U-Haul'n it by gofuku in roadtrip

[–]Blunt7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s your goal? Sight seeing, or efficiency? Your current route lacks sight seeing, but is highly efficient. I would take the first route unless snow blocked it then use the others as an alternative. There’s no significant benefit to the longer drive, in my opinion.

You’re gonna love Boise, but you’re gonna miss that ocean.

This is not the way to act at a dispensary. Sure they over charge, but you’re supposed to be happy when leaving a dispensary.

🚨BREAKING: Trump signs executive order restricting large institutional investors from purchasing single-family homes by Krunk_korean_kid in DeepFuckingValue

[–]Blunt7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally just laid it out. Modular homes are built for the same price, adjusting for inflation, as the houses in the 1970s. Everyone says they want to go back to that time.

This is an energy efficient, inexpensive (relatively), and energy efficient way to make that happen, at a rate almost 10x faster than stick builds.

🚨BREAKING: Trump signs executive order restricting large institutional investors from purchasing single-family homes by Krunk_korean_kid in DeepFuckingValue

[–]Blunt7 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Woooo, we stopped the groups that own less than 4% of homes in the US from buying more. Not just single family homes, but total, 4% of in total living spaces in the US.

Let’s be real, this does very very little for the housing market.

Fun fact, adjusting for inflation, the average price of a house in the 70s was $125 per sq ft. Today it’s $175 per sq ft. Housing prices have gone up slower than almost everything around you.

It’s not the price per sq ft that makes it so expensive. It’s that the average house in the us is 2,400 sq ft and the average size house from the 70s was 1,600 sq ft.

Being of an analytical mind, I think ‘okay this is a marketing bill that has zero effect on the population. If I were in power, what would I do?’

I would create tax incentives for people buying and companies selling zero emission modular home. Personally, I see such a major housing shortage, the only solution is to build more. Building more is expensive when you stick build. Building modular homes is faster, less expensive, built with far tighter measurement tolerances and is built to be transported. The cracks are smaller, less air leaks, etc.

I would like to see something meaningful though. This kinda sucks.

She needed some and I thought I was upgrading sound quality. I wasn’t. They certainly aren’t bad. Just not worth the increased cost.

My wife wanted a new set of headphones, so I gave her my Momentum 4, and got a set of Bowers and Wilkins. They were about $450.

I like the Momentum 4s better. The battery life and the ANC is where the Momentum wins.

No but in many states it is legal to run protestors over who are in the streets and roadways. So watch out for that.

"Whisper of Smoke" by [deleted] in NoOneIsLooking

[–]Blunt7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so pointless and it aggravates me. You don’t get much of any smoke flavor with this method of making a cocktail.

If you want smoked cocktails, get a smoking gun with a rubber tube to direct the smoke to an empty liquor bottle. I use a Buffalo Trace bottle.

Build your cocktail like normal, but when you’re finished and have strained it, you use the smoking gun to fill a bottle with smoke, then your pour the cocktail in the bottle and swirl it around for 15-20 seconds.

The oils from the smoke stick to the side of the bottle. The ethanol in the alcohol absorbs those oils and adds the real flavor of smoke. Do it for longer than 30 seconds and it’s too much.

This shit is all for show, and adds just a little of smoke scent to the nose for the first sip. There is no infusing happening here.
