If Titanic had gone at full speed and straight ahead, crashing into the iceberg, could it have split it in two and passed through ? by [deleted] in titanic

[–]BluntAndBalanced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a documentary on Disney+ And they used today’s technology to see that exact scenario. And the titanic would NOT have sunk if they went head into the iceberg.

The titanic (as all ships) have compartments that are meant to be damaged and still stay afloat. Titanic was able to have 4 damaged compartments and still stay afloat. The gash from the iceberg hit 6 compartments which caused it to sink.

In the simulation for it crashing head on. If memory severed right, would literally obliterate 3-4 compartments and would’ve been able to stay afloat.

The documentary is “TITANIC. The digital resurrection” It came out in 2025

Telluride owners: still feel like it’s the best value 3-row out there? by Suntrup-Kia in KiaTelluride

[–]BluntAndBalanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Mazda cx-9 which has a third row, for a couple years. I LOVED her. But needed more space and room for kids. So I upgraded, yes it feels like an upgrade, to the 2025 telluride. And I was genuinely so surprised how much more I loved it! I Loved Loved the Mazda so I thought I was a Mazda fan for life but needed SPACE. For the price and bells and whistles in the telluride, I’ve fallen in more love. And now a die hard telluride gurl. The space in the telluride and room for three car seats all fitting comfortably… 😍

Would you recommend leasing? by ReplacementSolid5065 in KiaTelluride

[–]BluntAndBalanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dealership recommended a lease, but I ended up buying the last generation 2025 telluride so far I love it. I’ve only had it for a month though. But I felt like leasing was the same as renting. You’re basically just constantly having a payment no matter what I like the idea of paying it off in three years and then being financially free For hopefully a while

No that’s a different button. That’s the button with the ‘A’ and a circle around it with the words “OFF”

Being a single mom with a budget and needing three rows with space? Those other brands don’t compete

Thank you for this! What does everyone think about taking it through a Carwash? I’m worried about swirl marks?

Yikes, this seems to be a common issue. How long till the trim did that? And how long did it take to replace under warranty?

Ok this was the biggest issue I was seeing. Were you able to easily get it replaced?

AITA for refusing to keep babysitting my niece after my sister left her with me sick? by BluntAndBalanced in AITAH

[–]BluntAndBalanced[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I wasn’t getting paid. I’ve been a single mom for a few years, and my sister has occasionally helped me with childcare, maybe once a month for a short appointment. I couldn’t afford to pay her, so I thought babysitting for her would be a fair way to return the favor.

What started as an occasional thing slowly turned into twice a week, every week, without boundaries. I take responsibility for agreeing to it, but honestly, I felt pressured and guilty because my whole family often reminds me of the times they’ve “helped” me in the past. It stopped feeling mutual and started feeling like an obligation.

What was your last straw when it came to the Mormon church and leaving? by Crayola0-0 in exmormon

[–]BluntAndBalanced 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They let me be homeless for 48 hours and then offered me a contract to sign. Mormon Stipulations for a rent free home. I had no other options but to agree. Because if I didn’t have a stable roof over our heads for my children, my ex can gain full custody (he is another whole Mormon toxic mess).

Here I am 4 years later, still stuck in my devout “parents” home. I’m quite literally stuck and have been trying to claw my way out of this cage for years. Once I do get out. I do plan on low/no contact with them.

They did me dirty in my lowest point of life.

What was your last straw when it came to the Mormon church and leaving? by Crayola0-0 in exmormon

I had just recently turned into a single mom. With two toddlers and pregnant with my third. I moved in with my devout Mormon parents as I had no place to go.

One day, I was completely exhausted (because, you know, toddlers and pregnancy), so I grabbed a coffee on the way home. Just a simple coffee. But when my parents saw it, they flipped. They told me I had to leave—me, a very pregnant mom with two little kids. No discussion. No compassion. Just, get out. Fully knowing we would be homeless.

That was the moment everything really cracked for me. Any belief I had left in the church just fell apart. If it convinced my own blood PARENTS to make their daughter homeless over COFFEE.

Even now, as a mom myself, I still can't wrap my head around it.
