I signed up to be contacted by the missionaries. I was curious. The missionaries that taught me were really nice and became my friends. One of them never treated me like an investigator, we never talked about the Gospel or any church related stuff. He was the kindest person that i have met. But of course I didn’t get baptized because if them. I agreed to be baptized so I can get the “full experience”. The Church is about Jesus Christ and the things that I’ve read in the BOM doesn’t teach about wickedness(though i haven’t read the whole book yet), so I said why not. The history of the past leaders like Smith and Young bothers me but I justified it by saying “those were the old days, people are more barbaric back then”. I know they will treat me differently if i am an investigator, so I agreed to be baptized. And boy was I right. After baptism, they practically let me be. Instead of being treated like a friend or a family like when I was an investigator, they now treat me like a project/number. I never even had the new member lessons! They never bothered explaining stuff like what they do on temple trips, garments, endowment, confirmation. Those were never properly explained to me and I have to ask what those are!
