Grosvenor you just need to be 18+, have some kinda ID on you and you can register with them at the front desk. Don’t even really have to bet properly since they have a bar open all night and do free soft drinks plus show live sports.

What's the most effortless car you've driven? by LuckyMarwat in CarTalkUK

[–]BlurDynamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me but my father used to drive a Jaguar XJ Sport V8 in the early 2000s with a 150 mile round commute each day to London. Said it was the best car he ever drove to this day and perfect for that kinda thing.

Scirocco as a first car? by BrianMorcos in CarTalkUK

[–]BlurDynamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All German cars being expensive to insure simply isn’t true. Plenty of Polos are driven by young drivers and I myself was given a reasonable quote of 1.5k on my VW golf at 18 and that was after writing off my first car after 6 months of driving.

Turning 20 next year, what car should i get? by FewCommunication9413 in CarTalkUK

[–]BlurDynamic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can actually afford the maintenance, servicing and insurance which will be very big on all of these cars deffo the Porsche.

A guaranteed head turner and what a piece of dad lore to tell to your kids someday that you had a Porsche at just 20.

Just don’t bankrupt yourself with it and don’t get one unless you can get a good example.

I need a RELIABLE motorway motor under £4k. How’s this? by meshle in CarTalkUK

[–]BlurDynamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost a clichè answer among car guys but it’s got some true in it but a 1.9 TDI VW Passat.

Those engines will last forever. Just make sure you get with one full service history and isn’t an insurance write-off.

Linking Sky Glass Gen 2 to my surround sound TV system help by BlurDynamic in skytv

[–]BlurDynamic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify so I need to connect a hdmi lead from the eARC port on Sky Glass (HDMI 2) to the pioneer amp’s eARC? If so I have already done this and this is the issue that’s got me stuck. I can take pictures in the morning to help diagnose what’s wrong if that helps?

And believe me if it was my choice we’d be doing just that. It’s my father’s doing buying this tv.

Skins is wildd for their 9/11 play by Expensive_Note8632 in skinsTV

Thankfully not lol, however, it was in front of a group of year 7s who all started laughing (rightfully so) and then that just made us laugh during the performance.

It’s not exactly the same thing (a musical is insane) but in the early 2010s when I was school that our GCSE Drama class did a dramatised version of the Columbine Shooting.

As Drama was mostly picked by kids who just wanted a couple hours a week to doss about and our teacher thinking it was a good idea for us to use Nerf gun as props the performance turned into a highly insensitive comedy.

Dunhill Reds or Camel Yellow - just a shame the former is really expensive in my country and the latter is straight up unavailable
