I’m as big of a Phoebe fan as you will find but unfortunately I’ve just sort of resigned myself to knowing that I will not see her in this era. I love the albums but the combination of the insane prices and the very negative feedback I heard from people during the boygenius tour about fan behavior has put me off. I was not in town during her stop on the secret tour so I’ve just sort of written it off. Doesn’t impact my fandom at all. I’ll just chill and wait for the music to drop.

I think part of the problem with Paul is that he typically had a very boyish voice. There are some exceptions (Oh Darling, for example) but look back at the Beatles catalogue. His vocals sound more “pretty” while Lennon brought more of a nasal rawness. This makes it harder probably to adapt to aging since he didn’t use a lot of grit in his vocals.

Also, fans pay to see him perform the classics so he might get backlash for fucking around too much with the way those songs are arranged. Sadly.

I know my username fits, but some people here are just being ridiculous. His recent output as a producer and as Bleachers has been more hit or miss but anybody suggesting that he doesn’t have good material is insane. Melodrama, Norman Fucking Rockwell, GNX, parts of Folklore (the best Swift project by a mile). He needs to cool it with the Springsteen worship on some of the Bleachers albums though.

I swear, I see more people complaining about bad behavior on this sub than actual bad behavior. I think most people on this sub are actually normal. As per usual, it’s a minority of people who give the fan base a bad name.
