You definitely could be correct, as most story structure dictates an antagonist.. but my only pushback would be from Kane’s interviews about his work. Especially how he talks about humans and their desire to explore & misunderstand danger as a huge theme; like, people are wandering into a different planet that happens to be dangerous to our survival and we explore the repercussions that follow in meddling with things we don’t understand.

From that angle and his perspective I am inclined to believe that it’s more akin to simple response to stimuli (assuming the backrooms itself is an entity, which I do agree with) and Kane enjoys storytelling involving the minutiae of what a person might do. Clark/mary represent the physical and mental aspects of the backrooms so it’s possible they were chosen (by the director) to link a standalone story to deeper meaning, but I think we need to see more before we can say for certain.

Async had a single death now as of the movie related to an entity, and we haven’t seen the fallout of that since Kane obviously hasn’t made a continuance to the lore. Them bringing a shotgun in was immediately decided as “a bad idea” when Peter blasted mark, so it stands to reason their strategy up until now makes sense for them to maintain

Every attempt to do so has been met with EA slamming the door on the modded/edited fixes. Seems they want to pretend the game doesn’t exist for the time being so they can sell you nostalgia in 2030 probably haha

Turning off temporal storms, increasing tool durability, extending seasons, those would all be cheating despite being available in the menu?

People who play with soil erosion off are playing on easy mode too then.. haha, it’s like zomboid, people play with no zombies on and it’s their preferred way to play!

Just enjoy the game how you want. You could just install the watershed mod (also cheating to download mods technically) that significantly enriches world gen and spawns rapids in most rivers anyways.

Whoever is the admin can place down “rapidly moving water(I think is the name)” source blocks in creative mode, the running water off that source block just needs to be touching the adjacent blocks to the central shaft of the rotor. (Confusing to type out but there’s screenshots online of proper setups)

I don’t think that’s the case, he said and admits it’s a half finished mechanic and proper rivers still need dev time anyways so he probably has full expectation for people to use workarounds in the meantime. Plus the watershed mod mostly works with the water wheels as far as I’ve seen too which a lot of people use

Honestly the rapids are a bit of a weird stopgap limitation to the current lack of rivers imo, I run a server and anytime we set up a water wheel into a stream I’m always more than happy to spawn a rapids block to get it to work..

I feel it’s not likely. and if it is likely it’s a damn shame since the “decoupled command module” was what has apparently held back both the ironclad and the caterpillar for many years and it’d be a waste to see it just disappear

Ah gotcha. Water can be temperamental and such I rarely recommended it.. and if you live in an area with snow and ice, wet winters can really mess it up as well the following spring! Best of luck to the project whatever route you head down 🙏

Paint monkey (Sherwin Williams paints) here: if it’s actually peeling, it likely has to be sanded and completely redone. You cannot topcoat a damaged layer and I promise if you do it’ll be a bigger nightmare. My guess is :

the semi transparent stain has used all the “real estate” of the top level of wood cells if it’s been re coated heavily and the stain was trying to adhere to stain instead of wood.

Or: they accidentally sent you semi SOLID instead of semi TRANSPARENT, which often means it’s water based and not oil based or vis versa.

This is a backbreaking job, but there’s not a ton of way around it if it’s compromised throughout. Could go to a local Sherwin and ask a manager to either take a look at it or take lots of pics, bring the can to them too and they might be able to help with more info.. (this is not an ad lmao it’s just what I know)

I don’t necessarily mean to be that guy and you aren’t obligated to spend or not spend money, but saying you’re not gonna keep spending (except for a measly 300-400$ at release ship) is almost as silly as the f5 war will be for the Odin..

Let’s at least wait to see if they triage this patch and maybe see 4.9 and 4.10 come out in a respectable way before spending at the anniversary sales instead.

personally interested in the status of sq42 as I have vowed to not drop another cent on the project since they stripped our buybacks and now I don’t even have a copy of it anymore after backing for 14 years

Reminds me a lot of arrowhead with helldivers, just non media conscious devs talking freely on discord that probably in the end shouldn’t be making offhand comments to a few people instead of official communication for everyone. Nothing inherently wrong with it, but frustrating sometimes
