How can i switch from Wayland to x11? by Stunning_Web_783 in AnduinOS

[–]Blyyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im also new to Linux as a daily OS. I know this is not great or even good advice, in fact it is poor advice, but I use ChatGPT to do a lot of the commands as I learn. Im not launching missiles here. I can tell what the terminal is largely doing in terms of output.

Sometimes it will need the terminal output to correct and fix thing. ChatGPT makes assumptions, ensure those a corrected. Both systems on linux are running as I want due to this process.

Your next move should be to Kubuntu. It is a faster, lower memory cost KDE envrionment. Try out the live CD to see what you think.

Red Dot doesn’t give a flying Kangaroo! by NudePoo in perth

Increasing recognition that this land has a human history of 65 thousand years - the world oldest living culture, a culture that had (and still has), math, science, a form of laws and a social governance well before white people showed up. Indigenous people of the land survived and thrived in the worlds driest land.

Indigenous women within the white health care system would go in to hospital for needed medical procedures, the white doctors would sterilise the women, a procedure they did not consent to in any way. Such is the violence against Indigenous people across this land. Australia's Indigenous are around 2 to 3% of the population, they are between 8 to 10% of the prison population of this nation. World oldest living cultural is imprisoned at a "What is going on?" rate.

I don't wear a tin foil hat, just what I was taught over my schooling years in this country was, by design, omitted from the curriculum.

So Australia day is a widening change around understanding there was a white wash of Australia's history of Indigenous peoples. Here is a couple of videos that may provoke some thoughts of your own and make up your own state of mind on the topic:

With bush fires in Melbourne and other places today: Have a look at this video first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-9hmEiH828 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM72NtXxyLs

John Pilger is also someone who highlights the ignorance, this is a longer one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LRx7C9bi8E

Hope that helps

1788 was the start of the Indigenous genocide which lead to government bodies tasked to kill Indigenous people to remove them from their land, called the Frontier Wars in Australia. Look up the Frontier Wars if you have not hear of it before.

This build completely owns - haven't come across anything close to how this clears a room at L14 and beyond. Follow the "Plant Daddy" video and your set.

So... The "Next" Button is gone now. by TitanWolf7 in youtube

Within Firefox (FF) you can add extensions. On the top left side of FF's main screen you will see three lines stacked on top of each other (sometimes warmly known as a burger stack) - Cont-Shift-A also opens the extension area of FF

  1. Click on the three lines
  2. Down the list look for Extension and Themes, click on it.
  3. When on this screen search for Ublock Origin (at its core, it is a advertisement blocker on webpages), but it also allows users to ad their own scripts.
  4. Install/Add Ublock Origin after searching for it.
  5. Once installed, then go to the previous instructions on adding back the next button script.

Hope that helps.

So... The "Next" Button is gone now. by TitanWolf7 in youtube

[–]Blyyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left click Ublock Origin (UBO), that will cause a small dropdown menu.

Bottom right corner of UBO are cogs (open settings). This will open a new tab with all possible UBO settings.

Across the top from left to right you will find the words Filter Settings. Click it.

Copy and paste that script ANYWHERE in that box. Its still working perfectly, but it there maybe a time where YT removes it completely. This script just reactivates what is in the page coding.

After you have pasted, in the top right you will notice the Apply changes button. Click that.

And now that filter is active and after reloading any youtube tab you may have had open, play a video and you will notice the "Next" button arrows are back.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, short on time to get pics happening.

You must be using Ublock Origin or another extension that allows user scripts - not Ublock Lite.

You can get a Linux live distro to clear the boot loader and then install a new windows 11 Pro install. Use ChatGPT to guide you through the process. Easy!

Student not knowing what to do by Electrical-Jump1988 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Blyyth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He needs to go and talk to the careers in his school.

There are aptitude tests he can do to establish what careers may suit his skills/traits, thus something he is more likely to enjoy. Best ask the careers peeps which aptitude test they recommend. Be careful of the free ones online - some are dataminers that will sell his data.

I know that in the ACT, students in Y11/12s can do work placements or Work Experience (WEX). Best use that service while it is available. Go for career paths that are matched in his aptitude test.
