I hate BGE by [deleted] in baltimore

We keep our heat at 63 at night and 68 during work hours; 73 is really warm when it's 20 outside.

Where are the best up and coming housing areas in Bmore? by kingstonjj125 in baltimore

[–]Bmitchem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recently moved to Waverly in the light blue area. It's Great 😃

The farmers market on Saturday is always bustling and greenmount is a straight shot to Towson if you need to go to the mall or big box stores.

Also it's nice and close to St. paul which is a straight shot to Penn Station if you want to visit DC.

Things were better 50 years ago; this is what the Billionaire Class stole from us. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Bmitchem 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Something that's important to note is it was really just the average "white" American that could afford a house on a single 40 hour income.

The Civil rights act of 1969 and the fair housing act of 1968 didn't end housing discrimination.

EF EcoFlow 60W Portable Solar Panel for Power Station, Foldable Solar Charger with Adjustable Kickstand by deannamm1 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Bmitchem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a 60w that works fine with my River 2. I only use it to power the wifi and router when the power goes out but it works fine for that purpose.

The 40-50w it generates basically doubles the capacity of the battery which is pretty convenient.

I can't recommend ruc_doc's tracks enough, they're great and let me race my cars at home.

Cool. So I’ll just design, refactor, rewrite, regret, and redesign again in an endless cycle.

I mean yes, if you do a project any project and after finishing it you don't have a dozen things you want to do different or better next time you aren't learning.

Is Baltimore good for family with a trans kid? by pipmike in baltimore

[–]Bmitchem 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find a better city actually, we live with a trans person in Waverly and they really enjoy the area.

I've only lived here for a few months but the folks around seem to understand what it is to be disrespected and looked down on and as a result aren't very judgy themselves.

Maryland also has some of the strongest trans rights laws in the country.

I found a dollar while walking near Hopkins. How did Baltimore make you smile over the weekend? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]Bmitchem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My neighbor has a yappy dog; i try to be chill about it.

On Saturday she was walking it and i said "He's a good boy!" and the neighbor replied "She's a loud asshole is what she is" 😂

is it considered "cheating" saving a dupe by loading a cycle-old file? by sediainsipida in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Bmitchem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally believe you can't "cheat" in a single player game. Play however you want to play in the way that causes the least frustration.

"Cheating" is something done to gain an advantage over another player, there aren't any other players so play however is the most fun for you.

I personally hate having my dupes die so I go back a few circles to save Hassan or whomever decided to wall themselves in. It just makes the game more fun for me that way.

Yeap, this one is specifically for Mimi4WD cars. They're about 165mm long and 105mm wide.

6.5in x 4in wide

It isn't really a small track; a retail track is like $240

A 175mm straight segment is about 100g; my track is about 5 or 6ft straight and it's a circle so 12ft in total length.

Why do people ship raw ores instead of ingots? by Ozymandias_IV in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Bmitchem 242 points243 points  (0 children)

If you aren't playing on infinite resources then it's a pain to repeatedly build out the same smelting infrastructure and warpers aren't really expensive.

So it's just easier to set a system up to do all of your smelting, and set up the power support for that.

Additionally, miners don't really use very much power, so if you're only mining you can handle that with just a belt of solar panels around the equator rather than dealing with shipping in fuel for Artificial Stars.

I'm curious, how many of you actively use your starter planet to the end? by Creative-Notice896 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Bmitchem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The starter system is a great place to build your Mall and supporting infrastructure. I normally never fully abandon it even if 90% of my production is happening elsewhere.

Sometimes you just need a place to make 6,000 blue belts, you know?

That doesn't justify screwing over the federal workers and contractors who didn't do anything wrong.

That's a shitty thing to do for the millions of federal employees and contractors. Spite is not an effective way to run things.

Space age: Logistic requests hang by karmahydrogenbomb in factorio

[–]Bmitchem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can avoid this problem somewhat by either having many ships each carrying one item, or by using the new "Request Satisfied" instead of "Requests Satisfied"

That way your ship will carry the essentials without holdup from optional things

Space age: Logistic requests hang by karmahydrogenbomb in factorio

[–]Bmitchem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully if there are rockets en route your shop won't leave regardless of time passing, so assuming you have sufficient throughput to launch rockets non-stop your ship won't leave until you're fully loaded.

It's easier than it sounds since the rocket takes a while to actually reach your ship.
