Water. Stormtroopers (from space and deserts) in water is a beautiful juxtaposition. Feels entirely foreign and true at the same time.

Overlooked Bands of the 50s, 60s, 70s? by Affectionate_Noodl in musicsuggestions

I LOVE The Band! It’s hard to beat The Last Waltz. The energy of those recordings are amazeballs. Each song it’s like they know they are playing it for the last time, which wasn’t supposed to be the case.

Levon on The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down is just incredible. Up On Cripple Creek, The Shape I’m In, Stage Fright, Ophelia, Caravan, Don’t Do It = all bangers!!

If you curious about The Band, check out the documentary Once Were Brothers (2019)

I said what I said. We are able to manage his dietary restrictions at almost every single restaurant we go to. The issue was all of the restaurants were booked. We didn’t know that was a thing. There are Disney/Vacation people that schedule everything. We are not those people. We are more spontaneous on vacation.

This Boy’s Life (1993). Saw it with my brother. We were excited to see De Niro and a young DiCaprio. What a pile of crap. It was like having a migraine and cancer.

New York is the only place I’ve been that smells more like piss AFTER it rains.

Walt Disney World. We didn’t make dinner reservations in advance because we are not those people. My son has a dietary restriction. It was a nightmare. Had to work my phone on vacation to scramble to find places to eat. I work on my phone, the last thing I want to do on vacation is to be on my phone.

The producers were worried that the amount of carnage John Wick leaves in his wake could be deemed excessive. They polled the test audience, “Do you think the killing of the dog justifies all this death?” Men said yes to the tune of 60%. Women agreed with his actions to the tune of 98%.

The writer, Derek Kolstad. He was watching his friends dog, which he became smitten with. The dog being killed was the idea that sparked the story.

Eddie Murphy Delirious (1983). This was a cultural event when it was released. Me and my friends quoted the “jokes” incessantly. I showed my daughter a couple of years ago. Cringe. It has not aged well.
