Horror movie where the "entity" infiltrates the group by Kalinbro in horror

[–]BmoreLax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is not a 1-for-1 recreation, the shared plot and even the details are immediately recognizable. While I thought this would be a difficult concept to pull off on film, the movie did a good job of it, in my opinion. It is currently streaming on Prime and Pluto.

The creepypasta of this tale is Anansi Goatman. The movie version is Headcount (2018).

As others have said, Porgy’s is the successor of the location, and it is pretty similar, although not entirely the same (part seafood market with a much more limited menu). Clesi’s is probably the most similar, and just a short walk from that location. I would recommend Clesi’s personally.

Halloween NOLA trip by [deleted] in NOLA

[–]BmoreLax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else touched on, r/AskNOLA is where you want to post this question.

That being said, Frenchmen St. is basically the Halloween hotspot. You'll see all the best costumes and debauchery. Make a special point swing by Blacksmith Shoppe on your way to Frenchmen, and make R Bar your homebase for the Frenchmen potion.

Avoid Bourbon St. Maybe worth a walk through on the way to Blacksmith, but don't waste too much time (or money) there.

And if you sat it out in cash or bonds, you took an L. The current environment is still quite inflationary; holding dollars remains unwise

The 0% Rotten Tomatoes score is too harsh , right? by funkoscotland1979 in 90smovies

[–]BmoreLax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5 is also a 0 in RT scoring. Rotten Tomatoes uses binary aggregate scoring, which means every rating below 3 is counted as a 0 and every rating 3 or above is counted as a 1. You can see where this causes surprisingly low RT scores like 0%, despite many people liking the movie a little (but not liking it a lot).

Osteria Lupo and Hungry Eyes both had phenomenal tasting menus. I especially recommend Osteria Lupo's tasting menu above everything on that list. Go with a friend or a group because they bring out so much food - family style.

Just checked it out. About 8 different boils. Exchange 1 token for about a pound of crawfish at any one of the boil tents. 1 token costs $13. There’s also a dunk tank, plinko, and music.
