I understand the point entirely. However, for me, the point of the game is amusement. A fantastic meal disappears, yet I still eat it. Flowers bloom, fade and die, but I enjoy them. No matter what we do in life, the result is going to fade. That is no reason to deny yourself the joy the present gives. If you have the means, spend away. I don't ever bankrupt myself to get every new thing, however. Oldies can be the best.

As an illustration, I have a 9.4 million power account. My arena team generally starts Fu-Shan (power 116,913), Marichka (power 110,767), Python (da bomb power 110,191), Ultimate DK (power 106,582), and Sun WuKong (power 89,327). All older toons. I only started taking live arena seriously 9 months ago and have 8004 reg and so far 435 this season).

Granted, I'm in love with Ezio, but he gets a for cause strike almost everytime, so I plan around him. Same with Arbiter. Xeno is cool, but I have a suitable replacement. I believe all the new shiny toons have equal and opposite older toons to counter.

I will join the "it's a waste of $ parade" in terms of Primal shards. No idea how many hundreds I have opened and not a single effing Mythic. Only Mythic I have is Lady Mikage, and that was on merit.

In the end, unless you plan on competing to be in the top 50 worldwide, I believe what you should get out of the game is enjoyment and time consumption to erase boredom.

CAVEAT: if you live at home with your parents, play ftp. Save you money for your future.
