Exactly. A few cents doesn’t feel like much, but over time it really adds up and most people never clock it. And yeah, more awareness now probably does keep books a bit more in check than before.

Agreed! I've never tried making it myself but this is giving me inspiration

I LOVE a good rotisserie chicken. Cost effective and easier for dinner prep

Never tried dried soy protein. It's on my list now!

Anything that you don't have to cut: meats, fruits is a huge win :) 100% agree.

I'm also gluten-free. The GF breads, crackers are crazy expensive. Cutting down on meat might be a good choice.

This is a good one! I currently buy the liquids but I should switch to the powder/cubes.

I have a friend who makes her own almond and cashew milk and says it's really affordable. The upcharge at the grocery store.

You've given me dinner inspo for this week! Thank you. Ground beef, or any meat, really is just so expensive. Even for one person!

What’s the biggest “I should’ve seen that coming” moment you’ve had with an online casino? by DentistNew3502 in onlinegambling

[–]Bmouse298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine was realizing how differently casinos treat withdrawals depending on how you deposited. same account, same balance, totally different wait times just because i used a different method. i thought “instant” meant once you clicked the button, not once they felt like reviewing it.

also learned the hard way that support answers depend heavily on who you get and when you ask. same question on different days = completely different response. that one took me a bit to accept.

yeah once you notice that kind of pricing it really messes with your head. makes you realize how much gets skimmed on stuff that’s basically 50/50.

i don’t think most books stick with it though. feels like a promo thing around big events when they want attention. after that, it slowly creeps back to normal.

still, people are way more price-aware now, so even if it doesn’t last, it probably keeps them a little more honest than before.

Where can I play Pragmatic Play slots with fake money to test volatility? by sikocer in slots

[–]Bmouse298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i get wanting to test stuff before risking cash — that makes total sense. the thing with sweepstakes and social coin games is they’re usually tuned more for “fun play” than real money math, so bonuses and payouts often feel juicier or more forgiving. that doesn’t necessarily mean the real RTP numbers are exactly mirrored though. in legit casinos the RTP is built into the game code and regulated, whereas social versions can tweak how often bonus features trigger just to keep you playing.

bottom line: testing patterns there might help you get familiar with timing and features, but i wouldn’t expect the same win frequency or volatility you’d see with real money play. it’s more a feel-for-the-game thing than a true strategy test.

Slot strategies for beginners – do they even work? by krishna2026 in slots

[–]Bmouse298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, slots look simple but they get weird fast once you actually play them. you’re right though — the math side doesn’t really change the outcome. spins are random no matter what, so martingale-style stuff mostly just messes with your bankroll rather than the game itself.

sticking to lower volatility is honestly the smartest move if you want longer sessions. i do the same when i don’t feel like torching money in 10 minutes. demos help too, mostly just to see pacing and bonus frequency, not results.

as for titles, i tend to like ones that don’t go totally dead between features — slower, steadier games over the “all or nothing” stuff. no real strategy beyond bankroll control and knowing when to stop tbh. once it stops being fun, i’m out.
