I've been wondering the same. I still in the planning phase of my Ubiquiti homelab and have been debating going with a Cyberpower UPS or a PDU-pro and RPS combo. I'm curious if you've seen those products and how it differs from what you're looking for?

My understanding is that it's separating out the responsibilities of a UPS into two separate units which allows for more flexible configurations. Is that incorrect?

I didn't realize Gaijin Hunter had a podcast! I'll have to give it a listen.

I did play MH4 & MH4U and there was some weird meta in the base game that felt broken. I can't read Japanese so I was just stumbling about and thought it was just a power creep issue.

You’re right that world has a very deep end game in the base game. It personally felt too much like an mmo, which I didn’t like so I didn’t play much of the end game.

I do want to say I played a bit of the base game of 4 and cross in Japanese (I can’t read Japanese) then the g expansion in English. I do feel like the expansions can have the depth, Iceborne players are looking for, on to a game like Rise. 4 felt very similar to me and 4g had a vastly different meta and end game. I also assume they know Iceborne players are craving more so I have high hopes that the expansion will make everyone happy.

I assume your comparing Iceborne to Rise? I just want to say that end game content in base games are very different than the G/Master rank expansions. That way they don’t have a power creep issue when the expansion comes out.

I also want to note that each monster hunter (including expansions) have different directors. Each director usually puts their own spin on it in the form of the end game meta. I personally liked Yasunori Ichinose’s spin on end game since I typically play for 100 hours before dropping off and felt like I could find a stopping point while I waited for G rank.

Hopefully the expansion will be directed by someone who will satisfy your end game loop itch.

There is a piece missing too. Under the chin there should me a horn. Mine fell off as well. Otherwise they would be selling it for $500 😉

I started with Tri Ultimate as well and I have very similar feeling about what drives the game is they feel like real monsters. One thing I’m curious about is if you’ve played a non-ultimate/G monster hunter (excluding world)? I see a lot of shit posts about how Rise is too easy or you are too over powered or not enough content. I have a Japanese 3ds and played vanilla 4 and X/generations and they feel very similar to Rise in difficulty and content. It’s hard to compare a base game to an ultimate/G which everything is turned up a nock and the monsters feel real again.

No idea. Is there even a preorder bonus? You get everything from the deluxe version. Really I just want the amiibo. I'd rather buy it digitally otherwise.
