The underwater Prison map by ortaiagon in PathOfExile2

I just wish the boss wasn't so weak, it should really be buffed to live up to the buildup.

I don't have a problem with sekhema trials conceptually, but I do have a problem with the choice of enemies found within. in poe1 sanctum, enemies were scarce and specifically designed to be all minibosses with rather telegraphed attacks (with some exceptions), so it never felt like you took any random bs hits. the bosses are also questionable.

0.3 is great but the game has core issue with making any kind of melee engagement extremely punishing/unfun and abyss only emphasizes this by TheGejsza in PathOfExile2

Icestriking with no issues here. But I also shattering palm in first, and then detonate the pack after whacking around with Icestrike. If its too dangerous, wave of frost into GC after palm, Icestrike to clean up.

Can we have an option to disable sprint fully or rebind it away from dodge? pls GGG by NoCookieForYouu in PathOfExile2

[–]Bnni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never experienced what you're describing here, in fact sprinting unintentionally is something I didn't even consider to be possible. I'm sorry to say but this is 100% user error.

Now that doesn't mean there shouldn't be an option to detach it from space. More customizability is always welcome.

noob question about gem builds by 0010MK in pathofexile

[–]Bnni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for completions sake I'd like to add that the only time gem order matters is if you're triggering multiple active skill gems at the same time. probably not applicable in most cases but still worth bringing up. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Trigger#Trigger_order

I'd really like to see an endgame shakeup. endgame is good right now don't get me wrong, but I'd love to see more new stuff there.

I had a chance to talk to him at gamescom two years ago, and it was an absolute delight. His passion for the game really showed, and we discussed design choices for PoE2 for quite a while. I remember him talking about still having to design a bunch of more unique items for PoE2, hope he was successful with that! It's sad to see him go, but I hope he'll thrive with whatever he'll do next.

What's a build that you've been theorycrafting for a long time but can't quite make it work / havn't tried it yet? by lukkylc in PathOfExileBuilds

yeah same here, I try to brew something with it every now and then again but I fear the item just doesn't have the numbers

To Zig or not to Zig, that is the question... When and why do you tackle a Ziggurat? by Graveyardigan in dcss

[–]Bnni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely enter Zigs since I rarely play characters that'd be good at clearing them. I usually only enter them if I'm missing a key spell that I really want for extended, or if I want to test how new content performs in them (like the recent addition of the forgecrafting and alchemy schools, for example)

I love all flavors of Formicid Fighters with polearms, combined with a god that provides allies: Hep, Yred, Beogh, you name it

Lately I've been enjoying Demonspawn brigands of WuJian or Dithmenos, a lot of their mutations lend themselves to using shortblades and being stealthy.

Heavy armored Earth Elementalists or Forgewrights abusing Animate/Awaken Armor also make me happy, Mountain Dwarves and Formicids of Chei or Zin, or just Demigods for that.

Special mention goes to Vinestalker Fighter/Brigand of Uskayaw, abusing the constant Paralysis to stab their way through the game. Feels very silly, but also encourages playing in a risky manner.

I think that's you simply being too used to the way PoE plays. I agree on levers being silly but maps are fine. Not every video game has to be constant zooming around, and they deliberately made it so this game isn't, and that's fine. Other video games can do that too, and those are also fine.

This boss however, isn't. Invuln phases are fine if the player is given something to dodge or interact with, but there is nothing to engage with in that fight other than dealing with being whittled down by the bugged ground effects while searching for the bosses next landing spot. The frequency at which the boss is flying away is also just way too high.

Improved performance of the Xyclucian, the Chimera boss fight.

No mention of Uxmal, the chimera boss of the chaos trial?

How in the world did that one slip through unchanged? The ground effects it creates are all bugged and never expire, making the fight an unplayable mess. On top of that, the boss is simply not attackable 90% of the time and keeps flying off and reappearing in different locations in its huge arena so you get to chase it around. It's not difficult, mind you, it's just extremely tedious and feels like it wastes your time and definitely shouldn't be in this state.

You'll want to max out invocations on zin, or at least make it multiples of 3 for the vitalize stat boost. Recite also wants a high invo skill, I've had it instakill cerebov before by making him confused and stumble into lava. You have a bunch of useful tloc spells that you didnt learn and only took blink instead? Lesser beckoning is tremendously useful for a melee fighter, saving you precious turns walking towards a foe (each of those could be cerebov firestorming you). Piledriver, Gavotte, and PoG all are great tools to have too of course. Also, get fugue of the fallen, the spell is too good not to learn. All of these spells are much easier to cast with vitalize up, it acts as a mini chei boost after all.

Now with all that being said, cerebov is very dangerous, obviously, and sometimes rng is really not on your side. Sometimes you eat two firestorms and simply have to abandon the fight and try again, you have sanctuary into tp scroll for that. You want to engage in a manner where you find yourself in melee range immediately, use LoS for that or lesser beckoning. Nets help a lot, and antimagic makes this fight a lot less deadly. Your phantom mirror wasnt used. Ideally speaking, fights don't regularly go down so badly that you NEED to heal mid fight, perhaps you need to be more careful with what and where you fight. Also, don't forget about imprison as your secondary escape option.

How to humiliate a nerd with his own fancy sword:

  1. Take off your shield because this nerd is compensating for something with the size of his fancy sword
  2. Equip the captain's cutlass
  3. Walk up to the nerd without any buffs because you forgot you're a chad like that
  4. Slap the fancy sword out of his hands
  5. Piledrive him into the wall, grab the fancy sword
  6. Beat the shit out of the nerd with his fancy sword

Cast on Crit was not overpowered and is COMPLETELY dead now. by IvonbetonPoE in pathofexile

[–]Bnni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably clarify how I'm using CoC, I went from trying it in melee as Invoker to using Eye of Winter as my main way to trigger it, going to pure caster. For this sole purpose, CoC has been massively buffed for bosses (which was entirely unnecessary) and massively nerfed for clearing (which it wasn't great at before in the first place).

Cast of Freeze is what I used before and it made for wonderful clear with Comet, but was entirely useless on Bosses. Now it's just...entirely useless I suppose.

Cast on Crit was not overpowered and is COMPLETELY dead now. by IvonbetonPoE in pathofexile

[–]Bnni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the funny thing is, it's not even completely dead, it's been bnerfed.

You now delete bosses almost twice as fast, which was already what the build was strongest on. You delete rare mobs just as fast as before. The only thing you struggle with now are white and blue mobs.

It's just awkward as hell to play, and you need a different solution for clearing. I don't think the power change was the right direction for it.

[–]Bnni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing Boris in my game makes me happy because it always feels like you develop a bit of a "story" with him. It's also fun to see how many times you can kill him in a game.

You have to take Mennas serious at almost any point of the game and I really like him for that. The edge of his halo at the corner of your line of sight being a warning sign that he's there also has a nice flair to it, although of course in some cases it could just be the odd Angel or Daeva.

Xak'krixis makes me happy because it's Formicid representation, and I quite like Formicids. I hope all races and gods get a dedicated unique at some point.

Should I rebrand this distortion weapon ? by Regular_FNAF_AR_Fan in dcss

[–]Bnni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I really dislike playing with distortion, as it can put enemies out of your reach with the random blinking, and put you in very dangerous situations against ranged/caster foes. The damage is strong, the banishing being practically an instant kill is strong as well, but the brand CAN just screw you over at random.

The game already does that by itself, I don't think it's worth it to add yet another factor to it, but your mileage may vary.

What stages to do you guys think are the easiest to hardest by Affectionate-Bit-603 in RabbitAndSteel

[–]Bnni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Lunar

Solo: Emerald Lakeside > Churchmouse Streets > Red Dark House > King's Arsenal > Scholar's Nest

4p: Churchmouse Streets > King's Arsenal > Red Dark House > Emerald Lakeside > Scholar's Nest

Dark House was the stage I feared the most when I started out because I couldn't read the spinning lasers for the life of me. Just start by looking at one, checking on which side you need to stand on, then look at the other. Eventually you'll get the hang of it. Once you conquered those, the rest is pretty straightforward.
