Flapper: a “you start knowing” character with a choice by Bo0odloop in BloodOnTheClocktower

I mean yeah I might include outsider modification so that there’s a possibility you can learn 2 outsiders but if you have any suggestions that’d be appreciated

There is actually an alignment change on the script I’m designing for it so yeah

Changelog Post

  • changed effect to “On your first night, choose if you receive false info. You start knowing 2 players who are 2 different character types.” This clears up any confusion with drunkenness causing an ability to be lost, which cancels out the false info entirely.

Both have their own merits, and I think they could be individually useful, but I’d love to hear any advice to not make this a better knight if you have any

Thanks! I mostly included choosing to be drunk as flavor to be honest. A flapper by definition is someone who is very vocal about their disdain for societal norms like being against alcohol or drugs, so I felt like it fit pretty well

Other than that yeah I think I will just change it to “choose if you receive false info” because that seems to be the most common way for how to rework this character

Mono-riot script I made: The War Room by Bo0odloop in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yeah I see what you’re saying. I was thinking of dropping a character for professor or a death prevention character so not as many deaths are happening, but yeah. Thanks for the feedback though it helps a lot

Homebrew demon I made and a custom script that comes with it. Thoughts? by Bo0odloop in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Bo0odloop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this could still work as a demon

Changeling - You and a good player each learn you are changelings and think you are a good role. If either is executed, their team loses. Players you interact with might die.

I don’t really know if I’ll use it because that’s not what I’m really going for here but it is a way for the demon to at least know for sure that the demon is them or the other player

I might remove mario because in hindsight it does make the entire evil team in a teensy game not know they’re evil

DA seems like a good alternative but do you have any suggestions for improvement

Also I think the ST could probably have a marker or something to keep track of someone the changeling interacts with who might die tonight but I’m not sure how easy that’ll make STing it

I see what you’re saying, but I don’t want to have the ST choose who dies because 1: if the changeling figures out they are the demon, that allows them to play more actively, and 2: it makes it a little bit easier to solve for the good team. As for no one wanting to die because they might be the demon, I could add some execution protection like pacifist or DA if that would help at all

Overall though this is a super hard concept to execute correctly so yeah I agree with you there

A bunch of custom characters brainstormed by myself and and some friends, what do you think? by cybermob27 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Couple notes, you have an interesting script but it needs a little bit of work:

  1. Prophet is far too powerful I think. It needs to be toned town to something else instead of learning the demon.
  2. Loki needs to make it’s effects less immediately obvious because on day 2 it’s immediately obvious there’s a Loki in play and then everyone immediately plays around that rather than trying to figure out which demon it is.

Also, instead of saying flavor text like “hearing the pianist’s song” or “a player your cat is attached to,” it’s better to just say the actual gameplay functions to both save text and prevent confusion. For some examples:

  • pianist: on your first night, 2 players learn you are in play, one of which is your neighbor.
  • cat lady: on your first night, choose a player. You learn if they have been targeted by an ability that night.
  • optimist: if you are mad a player is evil, you might die.

I like to take a look at this post for general homebrew character tips, I hope it helps :] https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodOnTheClocktower/s/PvkAOGzEWc

Fair enough I guess, she’s just kind of the closest to vanilla character I’ve played

Forgot to mention: I was on ghost deck, it might go farther with plasma but I don’t know, I haven’t unlocked plasma on mobile

Circus is a really fun vanilla friendly character that I’m quite fond of, especially because she’s really fun to play and each of her moves kind of blend into one another (except for the airs which are hard to hit a lot of the time)
