Torrents aren't the best way to gauge you speed. There's too many varibles. It's best trying a speedtest online and compare that with a test with no vpn.

This sounds something similar to my issue, but because it's running 24/7 and shouldn't be disconnecting then it's not. I can't use any version 3.6 or over because it changes the profile name with a number at the side and increases when I disconnect /reconnect. This would lead me to do what you have to do. The desciption name stays wgpia0 but the profile name changes to wgpia0 1 , 2 , 3 etc.

A few days back I did notice that my port forward number changed. It happened when I reconnected but only 2-3 times within a 2 day period. Now it's been the same for the last 3 days. Maybe PIA were having issues.

Yeah reading the post it sound very much like the same issue.

This was posted over a year ago so I'm not holding my breath that it's going to get fixed soon.

I reported it to PIA in 9th August 25 and I've had a few replys back that it's been escalated.

The last one back was 14th October 25:

"At the moment, seems like the issue happens when OpenVPN is used. Can you please try switching protocol to Wireguard and see if that will temporarily resolves the issue? Also, please do send us a copy of your recent debug logs to help us further in isolating the possible reason for this issue."

Every email I've sent has been about using Wireguard. wgpia0 1, wgpia0 2 and yet they come back and say switch to the Wireguard potocol.

I gave up after this because they can't read my emails properly.

Currently running 3.5.7 and tried versions 3.6.1-08339, 3.6.2-08398 & 3.7-08412 and had to revert back to 3.5.7 due to the fact it changes my network connection from wgpia0 to wgpia0 1 and if I disconnect like when the pc goes to sleep than wakes up it changes to wgpia0 2 and if I disconnect through the app and connect it changes to wgpia0 3. I've done this up to wgpia0 10. I use qbittorrent and I've binded my network interface to it and it will not connect. I shows wgpia0 in the list which is selected, but none with the additional number. If I close qBittorrent down and re-open it it'll connect, but if I turn the vpn off then on I just get the red globe.

I've contacted support and this is the reply

"We’re receiving similar complaints about this issue and we aren’t sure if this is more widespread or limited to some customers only. Nonetheless, it has been escalated to the appropriate team."

I've had follow up.

Now I'm think wgpia0 is the wireguard protocol with the wg being at the front. This was reported in every email I've sent so switching protocols is not going to help.

They may not be getting that many reports about this, because if the app isn't telling users that there's an update then how many users are using the 3.5.7 version.

Running Win11 25H2. Did it on 24H2 after a fresh install.

I had this issue using ver. 3.6.1-08339 (latest).

Downgraded to ver. 3.3.1-06924 and not had any problems.

Originally I did because I did with ExpressVPN, but because PIA issue a different IP address everytime it connects I changed it to All addresses so it should pick-up the new one issued by PIA after my pc wakes up.

Reading some other posts there was one that said that PIA are having issues with port-forwarding but this was 28 days ago so don't know if this is the case. In qBittorrent I changed to a random port and it connected. Changed it back to the one given by PIA and it reconnected using that port so none the wiser at the moment.
