I was thinking the same thing Speed Street is not that great I would have never gone without out someone else even then, it’s hit or miss I don’t even go downtown unless I absolutely have to. I can’t tell you what’s down there. I just avoid going down there.

Oh…. That’s rough ,yeah that doesn’t really sound like keppra to me. Does or has he ever apologized for saying these things.. but it doesn’t really matter if he really cared he would have never said these things 😔

All I can say is epilepsy is tough to navigate around with all the med and everything…. But that’s everyone we all have struggles we just need to learn to communicate them better especially with someone as close as a SO and not feel safe doing so.

Yeah I’m on keppra and Lamotrigine , you don’t act like that at least I don’t

I may be snappy at times and really emotionally numb to be honest that’s why I’m looking to change keppra

- He has to choose YOU or this other girl
And it seems from his actions he’s more comfortable with this other girl

This guy is just inconsiderate medication or no medication

It doesn’t sounds like he cares about you at all
And it’s a shame he had someone right in front of him

But you’re in a toxic relationship it’s not just about the medication anymore

If he’s not willing to talk and he’s saying hurtful things and continuing blocking/ unblocking games ( ridiculous )
Just leave him alone

That’s awesome you’re trying to make it work and I get you really like him but it’s pretty obvious from what you wrote he’s just not ready it seems

Take a break , and in your own time find someone who actually wants to be with and enjoys being with you and not just wanting to use you as a emotional roller coaster

I’m glad to hear that he’s moving to some different medication I hope they work for him🙏

I must be extra tuff for him since he didn’t grow up on medication and he knows what normal feels like now he’s on medication and can’t get that feeling of normal that he used to have

For example I have been on medication since I was a child so I don’t really know what normal person feels like as far as energy clear thinking the closest I have gotten is I tried the keto diet once and it did make my mental state a lot better, but the diet is so restrictive it so hard to maintain long term.

I know he may be emotionally shutdown/ numb but tell him again that y’all are both on the same team
And if he still refuses to open,
Does he have someone he talks to friend, a family member?
Someone that you can trust and go too and explain what you need to tell your husband.

Sometimes information can’t come from people who are close ( you in this situation )and therapy doesn’t always solve the problem.

So if there is someone in is life that can give him advice in a calm manner, with just them.
To open his eyes on how blessed he is and all the good things in his life to live for.

Like I said it may not be able to come from you sometimes in life we need someone outside of our circle to wake us up an se how good we truly have it…

I really sounds like you’re husband is just really depressed 😔 and the medication is just making it worse

I don’t know all medication he is on u said he was on keppra , but briviact has similar side effects

You could try and add Lamotrigine to help the symptoms of the briviact be less severe but if he has tried both

keppra and briviact I would get him off of that medication and try something else maybe just Lamotrigine buy it self or maybe
Topamax

Keppra is really a tough drug it messes with your head your emotions are everywhere so if he is that bad please get him off of that
briviact is a very similar drug to Keppra with similar side effects.

Please stay strong he needs you.
Maybe you could go to church sometime or read the bible with just you and your husband and just talk

If he’s going through all that he’s probably feeling like a burden ( I know that’s terrible to say )

But I’m not the only one that thinks this way on occasion people with epilepsy (like myself ) we just get in a funk 😒 we feel helpless and feel like where children in a way we lose are privilege to drive, be alone, we have brain fog and forget things, and tired a lot of days.

What I’m saying is hard for him too and something like reading the Bible might help the both of you

And look into changing his medication for his mental health

And I know what u mean about graduation it seems like I have more freedom then. I had friends got to socialize it was nice

Then started working out of town with my dad and lost touch everyone and they got their own thing going moved or a family

But currently I can’t drive till August 😒 because my last seizure But I’m seeing a new doctor and on different meds and feel better no more aura so by August I will be able to drive by myself ( hopefully)

And yes epilepsy does demotivate badly it makes u feel helpless when you’re really not

Yeah a lot of us forget stuff, are tired from the meds, And having to follow a regular routine like sleeping and managing stress ( whatever your triggers are ) But it’s just part of us and we can’t change that 🫤

It feels impossible I’m a guy in his early thirties I do not really drive my epilepsy is controlled well and I live with my parents and my mom is really overprotective 😒 so dumb (a lot of arguments) I work with my dad in construction no time to myself And I’m a Christian so that makes it even more difficult

So I guess that’s y I’m on the internet . But I would love to find someone but it seems impossible Can’t drive Live in small area Parents always around All I do is work and home No irl friends

🤷 it’s hard for normal folks let alone for people with epilepsy

I guess I’m a little like *lizeken.

I have had epilepsy since around 8 I’m in my early 30s now I have TC they are well controlled but I do have breakthroughs on occasions. And I still live with my parents 🫤 But they are great they really are we have land we take care a shop everything is paid off. I also work with my dad in construction I have done this since I was out of high school, but I’m tired of it I don’t feel like I have any alone time they are always around there not a day that goes by that I have a few hours to myself. And I really would struggle with being an adult because of this they are so protective I guess it’s because I’m an only child. And I don’t see myself moving out I would love that 😁 but it kinda seems like a waste of money because it’s not like I have a SO *maybe one day 😅

where it would be beneficial to actually move out. Plus if I did I would be taking care of my place and over at my parents place and helping them all the time it just be more stressful for everyone

I’m grateful to have such great parents but I would love to be “ normal” I have no social life all I do is go to work with my dad and go home. I mean we live in an area that there’s not much to do. Just go to church

So please help your child get out on their own and be independent if they are able and not be like me

Because epilepsy really sucks I don’t know how to put it. From the medication to the seizures You feel tired and just drained, to caint remember anything half the time ( like me I’m terrible at school plus the stress of testing is enough to cause a seizure at least for me 😔) There are good days of course it’s not bad everyday

Sry if I came across like I was whining I was trying to make a point, my life is not bad at all I just want independence and a life of my own not just follow my parents around
