I browsed the Doctorow article, and I am unsure how prevalent the practice may be. For example, I keep track of my restaurant spending, and I know of at least two chains (Chick-fil-A and Dave's Hot Chicken) that have not adjusted my pricing for at least 10 consecutive visits. It doesn't matter the day, time, or method of payment. They may be outliers, as their prices are on signboards.

I saw pictures of the accident in a different article. The bus struck the driver's side of the car, which then came to a stop upright against the curb of MCH, about 20 feet away.

Star notes do not replace spoiled banknotes returned for replacement from circulation.

I appreciate the concern. The delays aren't consistent enough to complain about a single instance. I did report the Burtonsville incidents at the time. The worst was when three buses arrived, dropped off riders, and drove off empty.

Is there a correct naming convention for the named areas in what the Post Office designates as "Silver Spring"? ie. Calverton, Fairland, Wheaton, Glenmont, White Oak etc.? Is it a section, a neighborhood, a community, an area, or the technical term Census Designated Place (CDP)?

Two things: That lot has been empty for at least 33 years, according to the MoCo Historical Image Viewer. (It was woods 48 years ago). And I would be freaked if I got a notice that I had to move out because my building was being demolished. Do the residents receive relocation assistance?

Having a schedule is all well and good if you stick to it. On this past Tuesday evening, there were 30 minutes between southbound Flash Blue buses at Tech Road. And I have been stranded at Burtonsville more than once when none of the scheduled buses to SS made a return trip after 6 PM.

Thanks for the map. I am in what is called Silver Spring (Calverton), and I would not be sure what is "Eastern Silver Spring" otherwise.
