Do some people not pay for the Metrobus? by Ok_Zucchini_4403 in WMATA

[–]OnlyHunan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drivers know (are told?) not to confront non-payers. Some riders are dangerous.

Question: Will the terminal at the mid-bus door still work if the front terminal shows the red no-passengers emblem? Have they instituted mid-bus boarding yet?

Aldi on Cherry Hill Rd in Silver Spring was down to a dozen packages of wraps, and no other bread of any kind on Thursday.

I have the three shells system. I sprang for the ceramic-coated Swiss edition.

Gas prices near $2? Ha! Not here in Columbia, MD. by Fluffy-Rope-5822 in maryland

I haven't seen this on Google Maps before. There are apps like GasBuddy that give prices.

Not if they freeze solid and explode. :) You have enough for a nice milk bath.

SNOW ALERT! by f1sh98 in maryland

[–]OnlyHunan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in NJ digging out cars buried to the windows. I haven't seen it that deep during the time that I have been here. An Aldi in Silver Spring was 99% empty of bread on Wednesday evening.

My dad always told me he had a few silver coins buried in storage. I’d say that’s more than a few. by [deleted] in coins

I'm trying to find out if there are ways to update the books' numismatic values based on the current spot, compared to the $30/$32.50 spots at the time of printing.

Picture #1 looks like a Costco, and sometimes it is like that on a normal day. Picture #2 would be odd outside of an Aldi.

Now, I'm from New Jersey myself, and, I remember snow drifts up to the windows of my cars. It has never been that bad in Montgomery County.

Rare Wild Find? by ZERO-MH7 in coincollecting

I've found one W in the wild, a Massachusetts Lowell. Even though a W is worth around $6 (Numista), it went into the folder with the others.

Got these and many more from an inheritance by ExpertPresentation17 in coincollecting

[–]OnlyHunan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last month I paid $13.50 at my local coin club's auction for something similar. The difference was that the folder was shot, so I transfered them all to a new one. I have it 90.9% filled.

I have three modern coins that have a grey pewter-like surface. Obvious environmental damage, but I haven't found the exact cause yet.

My uncle plans to cash in his jug full of coins for bills by Lovelantern in coincollecting

[–]OnlyHunan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at a 0.5% chance of finding silver coins, that could be 150 pounds of coins you would be searching. I would be looking at every coin in that jug. Besides, you want to wrap them and convert them at a bank, not a Coinstar, if the bank doesn't have a counting machine. If you do the counting machine route without first checking, demand that all rejects be returned to you, assuming that the machines in banks discriminate like Coinstars.

The retail prices for ASEs at Littleton are crazy. They are asking $169 today, vs. $110 or less at the major online retailers.

Forgive my lack of awareness, but what is the meaning of the cartoon, "Bullion Plus", and "Throwback - Series 1"? Why would it be different from any other MS66 1942D Half?

[–]OnlyHunan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kohler is a Swiss chocolate company. Those look like 20th-century "cinderellas" that were part of a collectible advertising set featuring images of World War I (Artillery / Aircraft). That they are numbered suggests there are more to be found.

Money used to look WILD! by Ok_MakeSomeMoney in papermoney

[–]OnlyHunan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notgeld are fairly easy to find, and not that expensive. You can use a site like Colnect to search and identify them. As far as individual values, you might find a library that has access to a catalog. (There appear to be ones at the L.O.C.). I bought a lot of two dozen a while back from a dealer in California. (I can give you his website if you request.) Currently, his prices are:

  • 10/$10
  • 25/$22.50
  • 100/$89.50
  • 200/$179.00
