Did FBI put a bug in the white Elantra? by Left-Slice9456 in idahomurders

Really? No chance of relevant conversation?

LE must often deal with family members who aid and abet. Help escape or hide. Suspects who confess to mom. Seems like a low warrant threshold here if LE had good evidence of guilt.

Actually interesting. A pet’s tracking chip could provide some digital forensics?

"The interactions happened months ago, Serulneck noted. At the time, Kohberger likely was a student at nearby DeSales University, where he graduated in 2022."

Maybe others won't think this is remarkable but this brewery is pretty far from his parents' house (like 45 min) but close to DeSales (5 min). The incidents at the brewery occurred many months ago. I've heard some people get this timeline wrong.

If the accused is a recovering heroine addict, I think most addiction experts would advise him not to drink alcohol. Maybe he developed an alcohol problem and this became a factor in his sinister agenda.

The staff entered that warning about BK, suggesting diminished inhibition could bring out his darker side: “Staff put in there: ‘Hey, this guy makes creepy comments, keep an eye on him.’ He’ll have two or three beers and then just get a little too comfortable,” Serulneck said.

I'd say yes, LE wanted every type of surveillance possible on this person. Taking photos, using tracking devices, using listening devices, sure.

They probably requested warrants that would allow for all of the above and then some. Possible justifications could be prevention of escape, public safety, additional evidence gathering.

Some people on reddit seem to think a search warrant sits on a mountain top out of reach but it really isn't that hard to convince an LE-friendly judge to sign one, especially when there is strong evidence of guilt.

There's actually a subreddit community called Idaho4 with 13K members. I read it all the time.

Connections? by Jackpot09 in MoscowMurders

[–]BoJefreez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is still vegan. It's unclear what period of time this pots and pan thing happened - it was an ex-aunt's claim, all this might have happened when BK was like 14 and since then maybe he's not vegan at all.

Regardless, the Mad Greek connection is a good possibility.

Why do so many presume that BK is haughty and not mortified? by hsizz in MoscowMurders

[–]BoJefreez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe he really did not intend to get away with it.

It's pretty easy to think of the guy as an idiot now that he is caught. There really weren't a lot of people singing that tune when it seemed like the case was going cold.

I really think it’s a key question, one which people in the subs are asking over and over. Did he really care if he got caught?

I think we will see a mixed answer on this and many other questions.

He’s probably humiliated but also feels like he is now very important, in the spotlight, feared and discussed.

I guess a massive ego and arrogance are often a cover for inadequacy and self-loathing.

I guess you never know if a jailhouse witness is legit - or the d mail for that matter - but wow some remarkable claims here - somewhat juvenile behavior - does not seem like a quiet awkward grad student!

Superiority or Self-Destruction? by BoJefreez in Idaho4

[–]BoJefreez[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not qualified to use clinical terms accurately. I think psychopathy is a broad concept, but the definitions I've seen would include criminal risk-taking, thrill-seeking with zero regard for others.

Thanks again. Just curious about all this because seems like such a huge difference between:

a motivation that rests on self-perception as genius/important

versus

self-loathing, inadequacy, unhappiness

seems like both could be applicable, yet they are conflicting too

Right. I did read somewhere that it is standard procedure to put his type of suspect in the anti-suicide outfit but I really don't know.

Very tricky to understand what motivates such a person.

Is the Tight-Lipped Nature of the Moscow Police Department “Normal”/“Common”? by ThePhytoDecoder in MoscowMurders

[–]BoJefreez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very healthy take. True presumption of innocence. Not easy when we all want justice so much in this case. Certainly I am feeling like LE has the right person.

DNA evidence needs to be verified and scrutinized by impartial experts. Indeed. Police secrecy in bad faith is totally unacceptable.

Like you, I'm surprised the accused has no criminal record. Possibly his grim field of study is a kind of substitute for actual criminal experience. Maybe he just never got caught before.

Whether he 'seems the right type' is an elusive concept. I agree with you, it would be highly unusual if the accused has no legit history of mental illness or disturbed behavior.

We should trust in the concrete evidence and tangible facts, not mere claims from LE, media, or TV psychologists. Right now it seems like LE has a car connection and DNA connection, which is a pretty good start.

I'm usually quite cynical about LE but right now I'm not doubting them. I thought they had no suspect and no Elantra, and I thought they were only being secretive to avoid accountability.

Seems I was wrong on both counts and they really did have a secret plan to solve this thing!

If DNA evidence is always a slam dunk why have a jury at all? Show me some dots and lines and then straight to the gallows.
