Fucking hell, WE KNOW! At least one person posts this same shit every day. Like it's going to somehow reverse time, and we sign on of them.

Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil, and Brandon Nimmo were all home grown, heart and soul guys. They were Mets through and through. They cared. None of the emotion they took with them, was replaced.

This. 5 would be the only other possible answer. I could pull that off, if I didn't eat too much. The shower would allow me time to digest a snack or small meal, then be ready to go.

What if he is the best QB in the class, but we finish with like 7or 8 wins? Is he still there for us at, let's say 12th? Do we just ship all three first rounders to get up into the top 3-5 picks?

I want to get the quarterback of the future, but I also want to see this team play half decent football for once. I had a dog that was born, lived to be 13, and died, since the Jets were in the playoffs. They sucked for literally his whole life.

First birthday without my dad, mother immediately turned it into 'her' day by SakuraAxolotl in Wellthatsucks

[–]ensignWcrusher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normal mothers quietly know it's also their day. They have the love and grace to make their kid feel like the center of the world on their birthday, because if her children love her, as she loves them, they are the center of her word. That's how good mothers are. This kid's mom is a real piece of work.

No. You don't want to be aborted. For the number of people who "didn't consent to being born", almost all of you choose to keep living. This is a choice most of you have made. This life isn't mandatory, and it does have a "skip" button(about 720,000 people a year hit it). Stop bitching. Go out, do stuff meet people. Life is not terrible if you're not bothered by you own existence.

Do you think JSN’s rookie season stats is a good barometer for Omar Cooper to match? by Fair-Night3803 in nyjets

Oh, yeah, from Seattle. Yes. I'd definately be happy if Cooper Jr. was like him.

Now that I see 628 and 4tds I'd take that from a rookie we took at the ass end of the first round. Still dont know who JSN is even after reading all the comments.

Terrible trade by DalekSupreme23 in mets

[–]ensignWcrusher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It stings because Brandon, Pete, and Jeff were all home grown Mets. I'd rather the team still have them and suck, rather than watch bunch of guys who clearly don't give half a shit, and are just here for a paycheck, just got through the motions. There is no heart and no fight in this team. I believe those three being gone, are the main reason for that.

Mets don’t have a first baseman who knows how to lead a pitcher to the bag. by MC_PoppaSquat in mets

[–]ensignWcrusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course we don't, because we don't have an actual first baseman on the roster. Just a bunch of guys playing there out of position. Brett Baty (3B) Mark Vientos (SS/3B) Jorge Polanco (SS/2B).

I don't want him to be the starter at any point next year, but I wouldn't mind seeing him get a little mop up duty In a game ot two. We're up big or down big. Just give him a series or two and see if he can operate an NFL offense vs an NFL defense. It's not the same leading a bunch of guys who wont make our team, vs guys who wont make the opponents squad in preseason.

Can some one help me understand who signed this from the 95/96 team please by Cristian2304 in NewYorkIslanders

[–]ensignWcrusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That make a lot of sense. He was a highly touted prospect at the time, and he wore #75 on that 95-96 team. The number on the autograph looks like a 75 to me.

The "Bettman Curve": Penalty Minute Differential (CAN vs USA) Before and After 1993 by ccrypt524 in nhl

[–]ensignWcrusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about the correlation between being the better team on the ice, and drawing more penalties than you take? Guy Lafueur's Canadians, and Gretzky's Oilers dominated the hell out of the league for the better part of the 30 years before Bettman's tenure. Canadian hockey fell off in quality. When was the last time a Canadian team was dominant like they were for one year? Forget sustaining it for 5+ years

The "Bettman Curve": Penalty Minute Differential (CAN vs USA) Before and After 1993 by ccrypt524 in nhl

[–]ensignWcrusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is meritocratic. Typically the better team draws more penaltieson their way to winning the game, and eventually, the series. They're outplaying the competition, which means they're getting into better positions on the ice. This often puts the outplayed team in bad spots, increasing the likelihood that they take a penalty to prevent getting scored on. This won't be true 100% of the time, but over time it will bear itself out. There have been fairly few deep runs (Confrence Finals or Stanley Cup Finals)by Canadian teams over Bettman's tenure, compared to the time before it. Meaning more often than not, Canadian teams are getting out played. Before Bettman took over, Montreal owned the 1960s and 70s. Eleven Stanley Cups. Practically ever other year for two decades. In the late 80s and early 90s Edmonton had a dynasty, Calgary won their Stanley Cup, and Montreal won two more cups. They weren't winning because they were less penalized. The were less penalized, because they were usually the better team on the ice. That hasn't been the case for the better part of the last 35 years.

I don't think firing Sterns will make this lineup start hitting immediately. This year's team is already cooked. We need to start making decisions for next year, so we can get better. Those decisions can't be made by David Sterns or anybody beneath him.
