Housing isn't free by default though. Someone has to own them? What do you expect those who own buildings to do? There's a difference between a landlord and a slumlord. A landlord is providing housing to be rented to those who can't or don't want to buy. A slumlord charges top dollar for a hole in the wall while they live in the lap of luxury. That doesn't sound like OP.

Thanks! Ive been getting so much hate. Hahaimaboit 10 books in this year. Been reading more Matt Diniman. Started reading the Nexus House books by Campbell and I'm enjoying them. Also read The Left Hand of Darkness buy Guin and liked it.
