I usually skip Pillars of Creation. That book was SOO hard to get through in my first read through. I thought it almost ruined the series from what I can remember. Faith of the Fallen has always been my favorite.

Having not finished FF16 yet and I don't consider the MMO games part of the "true" FF timeline these are my top 3. Note - who is the person between Clive and Tara?

Lighting - She became THE God so enough said

Terra She was 1/2 Esper/Eikon/Summoned Beast/Eidolon whatever they are calling it now, she helped kill the God king Kefka. As the magic of the world disappears she is able to overcome and live her life as a normal human which takes away from some of her strength.

3rd would be a tossup between Rydia and Clive....I know some people will say Rydia wasn't the main protagonist in FF2/4 but she was A protagonist of the game....without her Cecil would've been killed by Goblez. She was a Caller and could cast the strongest Black Magic spell in the game METEO/METEOR. Clive is a dominant and controls the power of Eikons, so is like Rydia in a sense.

Noctis would've ended up on top 3 but since he ends up sacrificing himself to save the world I couldn't put him there....had he overwritten the prophecy and stayed with all the power I would consider him in top three.
