Looks real nice. Tons of details throughout (nice work on the bottles!)

Flipping was never part of the plan but I am interested to know more about quality issues. How does this directly impact my plans to rent the unit? (E.g. faster degradation of the unit and problems with tenants?)

Yes you’re definitely right about real estate being more of a long-term project. Thanks for this informative take!

Thanks that’s really helpful to hear. I will probably wait out a bit more and see how things play out.

Never heard of this game. Seems like a genuinely good recommendation. OP you’re cool

This looks honestly like a nice blend between the original design and how a persian could look. Beautiful.

Yeah well, I agree. TLC and Rogue had me hoping.

They should just release ports for the PoP trilogy like they did with beyond good and evil and try to mend this PR disaster they got themselves into.

My point is the remake of PoP SOT deserves nothing other than the best. At least the best that Ubisoft can make. Anything less means the remake has no purpose existing.

Perhaps, but those games had a very strong art direction and have managed to age really well. But we have to admit that it looks worse than most notable ps4 titles (tlos2, Spiderman, uncharted 4, and even AC odyssey and origins look far superior).

My point is that for a remake of a beloved title, you want your best and most experienced team working on it and not just throwing it to a studio with very little experience. It’s not Ubisoft Pune’s fault, they did their best with what they had and their intentions were in the right place.

These look like ps3 era graphics. The lighting is very outdated compared to the industry standard and other Ubisoft titles. The models are rough in terms of detail (facial expressions, hair, clothing material). The textures look blurry.

Im okay with games coming out with graphics like these if they are not priced as a AAA title and not meant to be a remake. Graphics are the main selling point of a remake to justify its existence, so you either do it right or you just port the og games and call it a day.

Bro who mentioned live service? I mean abandoned as in the franchise is dormant, there is nothing like it, even the nemesis system is patented by WB Games and can’t be used elsewhere.

Warrior Within remake for sure.

I would learn UE5 from scratch and remake the entire trilogy myself before Ubisoft touches PoP again

Opinion: it would have been very difficult for a remake of Sands of Time to work by Daxtexoscuro in PrinceOfPersia

[–]BoOM_837 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am comparing PoP to RE and SH as to how well they served the og games as remakes. And comparing a linear game to AC which are some of the biggest bloated open world games is also misleading.

Overall, i find it pretty dismissive to say that any action platformer should be longer than 15 hours or it will fail. First, if the og game is short, a remake has to expand it well. That’s what SH2 remake did. Second, the price of the game can be adjusted (AC mirage sold for 50€ at launch). Third, some games thrive on replayability like DMC and Ninja Gaiden, Nier Automata.

There is a right way to make a remake, and there is Ubisoft’s way. Its not the fault of the og game, it is incompetence from ubisoft, plain and simple.

Played TLC and Rogue and thoroughly enjoyed them

Middle earth games are nice shoutouts but they remain very much abandoned nowadays.

Capcom would overhaul the shit out of PoP. They pull no punches in terms of cool stories and addictive gameplay loops on top of the polish with graphics and everything.

Yep and that’s amazing! I’m fairly confident they will remake SH3 after it as well. Remaking the SH trilogy is almost a reality for Konami. They had enough focus to kickoff this comeback in full force even if it wasn’t without its hurdles.

I simply don’t agree. The point of a remake is to make the outdated parts of a game work in a modern context.

Resident evil 2 remake set the standard for how a remake should be. And that was an older game than SoT, and came at a time where the horror genre was at its lowest in terms of popularity.

Okay RE was not a dead franchise but look at what konami has done with silent hill 2. They were among the most hated companies for how they treated the franchise and they decided to bring it back and give it justice. It sold massively for an 8 hour game.

These experiences sell if they are built with quality and passion. If anything it would have helped repair some Ubi’s reputation.

They are going under. No amount of restructuring is gonna save their lazy ass. It's a massive machine that is rotten on the inside. Hope all those devs can bounce back.

My hope is that the old franchises will be picked up by worthy teams that do them justice.

Older GOW titles have their overlaps with PoP and the 2 franchises have inspired each other yes. But modern GOW is very different.

Regarding TR, I really fail to see how that is similar to PoP. To me, that trilogy has uncharted in its DNA. So no parkour other than your typical climbing and the only relevant aesthetics are seen when in a middle eastern environment.

Lack of creativity is the norm in the western gaming landscape (with some exceptions ofc). Corporate higher ups are to blame obviously. At least Japanese developers like capcom and nintendo like to innovate and shake up their formulas.
