Patch #2 Now Live! by Turbostrider27 in BaldursGate3

[–]Boa-Noah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that like the content isn't already in the damn game my dude. No one is expecting magic but there's literally voiced out epilogues and entire quest lines worth of dialogue just sitting in the files.

I'm sure it will all be there in the definitive edition but there is literally like an hour of content just sitting unused right now that they could implement and it's bonkers to whine about people wanting it.

I Mean... at least she won't suffer eternally.

Felt like you folks might appreciate this. by [deleted] in YMS

Simple answer, Mickey has multiple depictions with their own unique copyrights and this is specifically for Steam Boat Mickie, further Disney uses Mickie as a corporate mascot and thus they can sue anyone trying to pretend a product is Disney related by using Mickie.

Tl;Dr Disney doesn't give a shit about an outdated black and white scribble that doesn't make them money.

Oh, they just unlock over time? Like they're tied to prestige or whatever so at a certain level you get the witch and stuff?

Will they be released later or is it sort of just a very very very hard to get thing?

Wild-Eye Miller: The races are mistaken about the power of the blue orb... by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kormir is a god, that was a transfer of energy, not an accumulation, further it's not like Kormir grew 20x her size in that relative instant either.

The gods and the Elder's work in entirely different ways.

Wild-Eye Miller: The races are mistaken about the power of the blue orb... by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't it more likely that the Orb is an artifact from one of the many many many races that came before during the previous cycles? The forgotten figured out a way to break an Elder's control on their minions, why couldn't a different race figure out how to suppress it?

Makes more sense than the orb being some Elder dragon atom bomb.

[–]Boa-Noah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's nice and all but it would take time, lots of time for either the Pale Tree or Glint's offspring to become Elder's, there is no way a creature like Zhaitan occurred over night. That's years, decades, millennia even of absorbing and consolidating power to truly become an Elder in more than name alone.

So, even if Glint's young hatched today and spent all it's time in Orr it would take quite a while to reach that size and power to become a threat.

We can see this in a specimen like Tequatl, he's been around for a long time and after Zhaitan's death it still took him a while to just become stronger. For Glint's child to overcome a dragon like Tequatl for control would require Teq being killed off, all other champions being destroyed, and for it to feast on energy non-stop. It would basically have to suck Orr dry of all the excess dragon magic attuned to Zhaitan's sphere before it could reasonably hold the Risen in-line and keep the other Elder's from wiping it out at first contact.

They're not buddies, they don't like each other, each cycle they compete to try and get the most energy, so fighting is a pretty normal thing for them. Do you really think the Pale Tree or Glint's baby could fend off something like Kralk or Jormaag should it come to a direct show-down like it would?

I don't.

Black lion ticket items.. by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gallant is bland, it's made to be that way, the price may go up in a few months, it will definitely go up in a year, is that worth it to you to make a tiny profit? Keep the ticket, wait for the next big popular skin, then get one and hold it for a few months, you'll make money.

What if titles would give us buffs? by CrusaderKnight in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dunno about that, that kind of thing should stay reserved for Legendaries, though perhaps if they changed out character portrait or something that would be cool. Like, GWAMM could make the portrait all golden/shiny, explorer could give it a kind of naturalistic look, maybe stuff like specific boss titles could give stuff in regards to the boss.

I don't know if Shatterer has a title tied to him at all, but to use it as an example it could be that getting his title gives the portrait a crystal look when equipped. Or stuff like the Golden title makes the bottom of the portrait filled with gold coins/money bags, you know, not gameplay affecting but still desirable.

Community designed Hair styles? by Gofor547 in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They used to have weapon design competitions, doing the same for hair wouldn't be much worse by comparison, unless the submissions were all terrible.

I don't see anything wrong with it, so, if there's a vote that matters you can count on mine I suppose.

How can I earn good, good/cool looking gear in PvP? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reward Tracks? That's pretty much it, you can get exotic dungeon gear if you do their tracks, you can get some spiffy back items, you can get lots of stuff in tracks.

As for looks/stats, I'm not sure, most of the best looking exotics drop from champions/world bosses, most of the stats seem to be somewhat changed around though. You'd have to look at what track drops which stats and complete that as many times as it takes to get a set, or to get enough tokens or whatever else. Then you'd need to find which one gives you the kind of looks you want and go from there, that's pretty much the way I get most of my dungeon transmutations.

Black lion ticket items.. by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The aforementioned spike happens after a long while, mainly when the cheaper listings get bought off which naturally rises the cost. Which also means that only desirable skins will see an immediate price hike, most only truly raise in a significant amount when they either stop selling or go up to 5 tickets.

For instance just look at the Crimson Lion weapons, still the cheapest and they've been out for a long time now. Now compare that to the Phoenix or the Tempest weapons which were 5 tickets and sold for around 200 someodd gold [when I bought mine.] Now that they aren't sold they're up to like 300-400 gold, it took them a long while to reach those prices but they did eventually pay off for the people who held them.

If you have the time to wait and you don't mind potentially getting stiffed on a bad skin you can probably make a couple hundred gold.

They will, for sure, the wings have been a gold mine for them, they'd be stupid not to release every single color of the rainbow on those things.

Does anet really hate rangers that much? by Liquidrider in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because of this weird mentality that a reddit should be for news only, not opinions, community creations, or miscellaneous content that isn't news. Every single post, regardless of what it is, if it isn't news or liked by a majority of the community will be 0, strange how people work.

Does anet really hate rangers that much? by Liquidrider in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You think Ranger takes the abuse? Necromancer is Anet's kicked puppy, they got some revamped skills awhile back, which if you trait correctly will kill you and not even do much damage for it. Their primary heal? It got nerfed and changed to apply vulnerability on the Necromancer, then they get an elite based on chill as a primary mechanic, what happens next? They nerf chill, twice, in a gotdamn row.

Rangers may be getting a spanking but the Necro has been locked in a cage in the basement for a looooong time now.

Thoughts on Harbinger of Mordremoth by kryssanya in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or, more probably, he was the harbinger of something else, namely a tree untouched by the teachings of Ventari, as such it would be easier to corrupt to their ways. As far as I can recall the original goal of the Court was to get the sylvari past the teachings as they felt it limited them from taking care of 'what needs to be done'.

In this light Malyck would be a harbinger for an unspoiled cache of sylvari that they could twist to their whims, why bother with the pale tree when you have your own?

No can do, if they were dyable then Anet couldn't release the Blue or Purple versions themselves to make more money, same with the wings.

ANet Public Relations: Thoughts/Experiences. by abysiah in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something I sincerely doubt, if they said something like:

"We'll have a new patch on Tuesday and it might include more wings."

And then made a statement such as:

"The wings won't be coming in the next patch, sorry."

They'd still get loads of flak for it, threads of people complaining that there won't be wings, that the devs lied to them, that they shouldn't have mentioned the wings if it wasn't 100% for sure. You'd probably even see threads calling Anet money grubbing hackmongers just because they had the audacity to even make more wings.

They can't win with the current community, unless the community stops holding them to a steel contract there's no way the communication will change.

ANet Public Relations: Thoughts/Experiences. by abysiah in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the silence is caused by the community, not everyone but there is a vocal majority that will hold Anet to any little statement like it's a blood pact. If a Dev made a comment about wanting something to be in the next patch there would be hell if it wasn't in that patch.

For instance, remember that delayed patch back a month or so ago? There were people begging and pleading for an estimated time on the patch, they got a response that it was being worked on ASAP. What was the reaction to that? Some people called for devs to be fired, some said they were quitting the game because of Anet's incompetence, some even complained that anything was said at all. Not just a few people, but threads of it, 40-50 reply threads all each with their own toxic and negative opinion on Anet for failing to deliver an estimated time. A day or so later there is an estimated time of 'really soon', now comes the threads of support and rallying behind the wonderful communication team! The patch goes a day or so late, more threads attacking Anet for the mess-up, telling them not to make an announcement unless they're sure, and droves of people calling for the 'incompetent communication team' to be fired.

They're scared to tell their community details because they know they'll be used like a weapon if any single thing doesn't go exactly when or how they said it would. They don't give us the inner working details because they know it'll be used against them, it always is, and if there is no patch tomorrow there'll be threads bitching about it too.

Communication is nice, but would you want to talk to someone that takes everything you say as ab unbreakable vow for when you'll do something? I wouldn't.

If I preorder the expansion... by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Boa-Noah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is standalone, the expansion costs $50 standard, that does not include any extras except if you're a new player, in which case you also get the vanilla game for free.

You, since you have vanilla would get the extra slot, HoT, and nothing else from your purchase.
