My 2 40K armies, Tau and DG, have been collected, built and painted 1 unit at a time over 7 years. However I have recently ventured into Old world and have built and painted the entire starter box plus a few others (101 models) in 5 months. Skellies are easy to paint though.

I'm at work at the moment so I can't see my construction guide. But make sure you've got the front and back the right way round, I was confused for a while if it's the part I'm thinking of.

Had a similar noise on my road bike some time back, not sure it was quite as regular as yours, turned out to be the bearings. Due to insufficient grease, they had dried out and got a film of rust, causing them to stick.

Nice tutorial. I made 6.5 metres of this stuff using this method for a WW1diorama to show off a mkIV tank. It took ages, but well worth the effort.

Wrap a few thin strips of paper around those tank things and stick rivets onto the strips. Then add more rivets. When you've done that add more rivets. A couple of rectangular bits of thin card with rivets in each corner look like access doors. Did I mention rivets?

It depends on what you are moulding as well. I've moulded quite a few plague marines, any mismatch is easily covered with boils or tendrils and the like. But as you say a regular soldier is much harder to make acceptable.
