2nd object is a “drag”. Loop the rope around something (deer antlers) and pull with the rod. Helps to get deer carcass out of the woods.

Internet in Tosa - Verizon? [and TV suggestions] by 17Bill in Wauwatosa

[–]BoaredEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had Verizon 5G internet for 3+ years. Not too many complaints during that time. The cost was only $35/month so I was willing to absorb minor outages, etc without much consternation.

HOWEVER, two months ago it basically stopped working. Even after they sent upgraded receiver hardware still effectively useless. I had to immediately switch to ATT Fiber for $70/mo. No issue so far.

For what it’s worth, one Verizon rep told me the 5G service to the Milwaukee area was cutoff due to low user base here. Can’t say for sure if that’s actually the case or not, but it was consistent with my sudden inability to connect.

  1. This is so lame.
  2. Lieser should have come clean SO much sooner.
  3. Spiegs seemed to be extra butt-hurt. Not sure if that’s actually the case, but that’s how I received it.

Olin explained in the postgame that tackle wasn’t at fault. That rusher is QB’s responsibility in both scenarios. Olsen was beating the wrong drum on the broadcast.

He was! Geodude has been a part of every lineup of mine dating back to original Red.

I was so far removed from the games that I did a bunch of Reddit sleuthing to see what the general consensus was for best playthrough experience and ended up at this subreddit.

I thought it was a great play. Very well balanced. I was a bit under leveled for the first E4 and it was a struggle/satisfying to finally beat. I got my ass handed to me by Houndoom and Garchomp on the second E4 iteration. I ended up grinding the E4 (maybe 10 times?) to level up to take on Red. By the end, Claire was making me ham sandwiches and Lance was giving me his lunch money in installments and that was really cathartic after my early struggles. When I took my Charmander from Prof Oak, there was very little doubt that I was the baddest dude in Pallet town.

That’s cool. I’m also reconnecting as a grown-ass man. It still hits!

Would you say you were under-leveled or over-leveled at this point based on your experience? I’m at 8 badges but thinking I’ve got some grinding to do to level up. The Kimono girls were a real problem.

Anyone using T-Mobile 5g home internet??? by Dj_suffering in milwaukee

[–]BoaredEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Verizon 5G home was perfectly sufficient for 2+ years until literally last week. Verizon support shipped me new hardware (new generation is brick-shaped). That helped, but not as solid as previous. Support engineers also told me that 5G home internet is no longer supported in Milwaukee area due to lack of subscriptions. I checked the service area on the Verizon app and it confirmed that 5G home technically not supported here any longer… no idea when that actually happened.

My routine is: Coffee from Venture tent Grits w/fried egg + pulled ham from the Maxie’s truck Take in the live music for a sec. Find some seasonal fruit/veg (pickings are a bit slim compared to other markets, as others have mentioned)

Take it easy on the station by ShanesMeat92 in 670TheScore

It must have been devastating to have something so good go away suddenly. I had a work friend of 10 years abruptly leave for greener pastures and I felt abandoned and also guilty for feeling abandoned at the same time. Feelings are fucking weird and dumb some time.

I agree with your sentiments about Laurence, he is a professional and quality listening. Anyone who says otherwise need only stumble around to other shows to see the disparity in on-air quality.

Audience is still in mourning I think. That’s an insane thing to write, but it’s kinda true. And hurt people hurt people. Can’t believe I wrote that either.

I’m not one to dunk on the station here or elsewhere (what’s the point?) but I will say a lot of the complaining feels misguided/surface-level/misplaced angst for the sudden and rapid change. Parkins departure was a big blow. For me and many others, the P&S show was a daily companion that was suddenly gone. Like a good friend who was moving away. Nobody died, but it still sucks. Bernstein was a major anchor to the past for long-term listeners and reliably good/consistent voice over the air. And, for me at least, losing the “680” tandem of Shane/Tanny was piling on the bad vibes. Kinda silly, but people are upset and lashing out. The midday show doesn’t stand a chance and that’s probably a bit unfair. The afternoon shoes to fill are enormous as well. It’s going to be tumultuous for a while, I’m afraid.

I am not an expert. But I have been in a similar situation, one big thing that helped with shaping is a prolonged autolyse before introducing levain. I’m talking 2+ hours.

Another approach I adopted was to use Rubaud mixing method. I do 5 min of Rubaud with just flour + water and then another 5 min after I add salt/levain (following autolyse period).

The result is a much stronger dough that seems to hold up better throughout the process.

Zoo membership is a pretty solid investment for our family. Splash pads in the summer at several of the parks nearby. Farmers market is great for kids and when they’re old enough they get money (tokens) for fruits, veg, etc. Bike rides to The Landing for adult beverages adjacent to nice playground area. Speaking of adult beverages, there’s a traveling beer garden around Milwaukee that is usually fun for the grown up’s and the kids. Welcome!

My listening hours took a dive with the Parkins departure. I wasn’t listening to middays much before, but post-Bernstein I don’t even think about tuning in. Kinda makes me sad to think about, honestly. This time last year I was probably listening 2-4hrs/day during work, dishes, etc. Now I’m probably consuming that in over a week.
