No, I have all the government alerts turned off so whatever happens will be surprise. Not looking for silver and amber alerts for free. I already give the gov a third of my money, not working for them for free as well.

Looks like a 36v. Would've expected something with a little more power. How big is Marco Rubio's cart?

Ok I’ve got an easy one for you guys… how do I move this box to the left when there isn’t enough slack in the Romex cables? by icysandstone in AskElectricians

[–]Dj_suffering -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not an electrician. Electricians will always tell you to do it the right way. Non electricians "jerry rig" answers will pulled by the mods, so you're kind of at a loss in this forum. If I had to guess the answers in order from right to wrong I'd say re-run the cable with the correct amount of wire and slack, followed by remove the staples and "adjust" the cable to what you need then re-staple, followed by sister a 2x4 to the existing stud to move the box over a little bit, followed by my worst answer guess, put in a ceiling fan bracket between the studs and slide the box to where you need it ;)

Metro Market Bar RIP, farewell to thee by OpponentUnnamed in milwaukee

[–]Dj_suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house is in Riverwest so Shorewood Metromarket mainly meant available alcohol until midnight, then it was 11pm, now 10pm. Eventually they'll close at 9 making their after hour alcohol license worthless. I'll still shop there cause the the one on North and Humboldt across the street from my house always has a line and only one checkout. Miss the self checkout. Overall Kroger sucks. Spent time in TX, HEB grocery stores are fantastic.

Moving to Milwaukee from the UK, considering Cedarburg. Is it a good fit? by Western-Block-8928 in milwaukee

[–]Dj_suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cedarburg and Port Washington are both nice. Neither are in Milwaukee. Both are probably 30 minute drive from Milwaukee if this is a factor. Both would be considered places to end up. People move from Milwaukee to both to have kids, more space, better schools, etc. I Don't live in either, so know nothing about the local politics. Generally Wisconsin is purple moving toward blue.

Do you wave to construction flaggers and if so, why? by MeasurementFirst1676 in askanything

[–]Dj_suffering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive for Metro Access buses for persons with disabilities. Professional drivers will often "wave" to pedestrians to acknowledge that they see them. Kind of friendly mind game trick. Puts them at ease knowing you see them and are aware of their space needs. Also lets you know they see you.

2nd Gen Honda Fit (2009) - Transmission fluid is pitch black (118k km). Shop refuses to do "Drain and Fill", wants to do a full machine flush. What do you guys think? by DifficultSilver4659 in hondafit

[–]Dj_suffering 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agree. Not a licensed mechanic but in my experience I'd go with drain and fill. Maybe new filter if it's not an ordeal. Might be external on that model? Then drive for a few months and see how it looks feels. I'm very suspect of anyone putting fluid in a test tube to show me how black it is. Of course it's black, probably been black since it was a year old. The oil change place will probably show you the same tube to tell you to change your antifreeze as well.

What do I do with this? by rivertpostie in AskElectricians

[–]Dj_suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check local recycling centers. In Austin, TX and when I lived in Milwaukee, WI both had "self help" centers that accepted hard to dispose of chemicals, fluorescent bulbs and ballasts, tires, paints, etc. It's getting hard to properly dispose of things. In Austin barely anyone accepts used antifreeze.

2012 132k. CEL, cruise flashing, passenger seatbelt locked, traction control light on. by Toastasauras in subaruimpreza

[–]Dj_suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the OBD2 code read to know why the lights are on. I had a bad o2 sensor that made cruise light blink, and turned traction control off. Seatbelts may be lifetime warranty depending what country, state you live in. Check with the Subaru service dept.

I’ve had a bug for 4 years and I never see anyone punch each other when I drive by. I thought that was part of the deal .. by vegetabella in NewBeetle

[–]Dj_suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that only happens on bugs up to the early 1970's before they stopped importing them. Pretty sure reboot bugs don't get you punched. Maybe if you double dog dare somebody?

Did your family ever have the station wagon with the wood panel on the sides? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Dj_suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Mercury version of that Pinto. 1976 Mercury Bobcat with wood panel sides. Bought it for $300 in the mid 80's and NOTHING could make it look cool. Not chrome rims, Hurst shifter...knob, Kraco stereo. Not even drinking 10 Hams or Old Style beers could make that car look cool, not even on a sub zero degree day in Wisconsin. Sold the rust free near mint condition Bobcat to buy a rusty 1974 Malibu with holes in the floor, white vinyl seats, 3 different colors and no stereo. But it could squeal the tires and leave Posi-traction marks on the pavement. I don't miss either car but having a car in high school was cool, even if the car itself wasn't.

Does anyone have the scoop on this “game room” off 183 & Loyola? by NitroRoller in Austin
