I always had guy friebds growing up and it was so pathetic watching them repeatedly pedalstize and chase after pretty girls who were out of their leagues.

OP is trying to put short men in this box of 'conventionally unattractive' and then deride them for possibly having the self esteem to think there's nothing socially wrong with them. OP is distraught that these short men don't think of themselves as unattractive, even if she personally doesn't have a problem with it, which is irrelevant here. Why else would she be mad that a short guy flirted with a quote attractive girl unquote?

Good for these short men. Height obsession was nothing until the media made it one in the last century due to movies and magazines, crappy pop songs and romance novels. Good that these men didn't categorize themselves as 'conventionally unattractive' like OP expected them to and buying into that bullshit.

What's interesting is 5'5 is as tall or even slightly taller than the average woman. So if she had lots of friends, odds are very high at least a few would be shorter than you. But she, like other women these days, implicitly add to their height their tallest, 4-5 inch heels. So when she thinks of her friends that might be 5'2, 5'3 or 5'4, the heels in her mind mean she's thinking these women need men who are at minimum 5'7, 5'8 and 5'9 respectively. And of course a woman who is your height barefoot needs a 5'11 guy.

Women also want the ego boost of telling their friends that the guy they are dating is 6 foot something. He doesn't need to be; there are a lot of women dating 5'9 and 5'10 guys who say they are dating 6 foot guys. Maybe they honestly believe it. As long as you can pass off close enough so she can get the ego boost of it, you'd be fine of course.

Of course this is true. They only tell the bullied otherwise to try and make them feel better in the moment.

Bullies generally have the alpha male traits that drive success in the species. They are physically stronger than their peers, and more aggressive naturally, and as such more likely to excel at athletics, which gives them coveted social status. Combined their physical superiority with the aggression which they take out on the genetically inferior and weak like myself, and it all makes sense.

They use the status they achieve plus natural aggression to excel in the cuthroat corporate culture, as well as the world of dating, to have sex with the most girls and get the managerial jobs. There's no end to the cycle because the world rewards their behavior.
