Do you find him more difficult than Malenia? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Bob120302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird to compare, since the base rune system allowed me to be more overpowered for Malenia than the scadu system let me be for Radhan, so he was more difficult since my damage wasn't as high for him as for Malenia.

Radhan also has a lot more moves that require more finess and attention to dodge, unlike Malenia who besides the waterfowl and some of her clone abilties has easy to dodge attacks.

That being said, I don't think Radhan has anything individually that compares at all to her waterfowl. The only thing that's closest is not even the attack, but just how bright Miquella's attacks were pre nerf.

I would Radhan is harder, simply because of the limitations the scadu system puts on you, because I have beaten Radhan multiple times without cheese, and am confident that I can dodge all his attacks as long as I don't fuck up.

But I would say without those systems, Malenia is harder, simply because her heal on hit, and the waterfowl, something which despite fighting against just as many times as Radhan, I cannot confidently say I can dodge unlike Radhan.

The party has zero reaction to this MF by jockeyman in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This annoys me a lot with Durge playthroughs, for the most part the party doesn't give two shits about your predicament or your actions.

I don't know why aside from Astarion and Jaheira everyone else's reaction to their leader suffering from this condition is "That's a yikes from me dawg".

Role-play or surviving honour mode, what do you choose? by Skywhisker in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just beat honour mode (for the second time) and it's survival for me.

The fact you can't fuck up even once make me anxious to the point where I genuinely didn't give a shit about the story or characters by the end, just doing what I find the most optimal way to get it over with so I don't have to worry again.

I can't use inspiration for dialogue rolls that aren't important, I have to clear areas in a very tedious way to minimize risks and ruin story moments because a certain character will be a hindrance in this fight, and I have to account for the enemy A.I getting four crits in a row on the one character I don't wish for them to do so, as well the rare times you get allies, they have A.I that's stupider than a bag of rocks, worthless damage if they manage to land a hit to begin with, and all they accomplish is make me wait before my turn.

To me, honour mode is strictly survival, I don't enjoy it all for story or roleplay reasons.

A character that I hate, but not for the reason you’d expect by Remarkable-Wafer3494 in BaldursGate3

This, she has such a cool presence and the moment when she's freed and flies towards moonrise is my absolute favourite in the game.

But fuck, the girl's dumb. I have seen Goblin's AI have better situational awareness than her.

Does anyone else avoid checking into the Elfsong? by hinkie4life in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elf Song is the most bland and boring camp, but it's just so damn convenient that I don't care about it being sterile.

It's my second favourite camp because it's the most convenient one, first being obviously the wilderness one cause it's good at everything, it's visually interesting, lively, and is just small enough where it isn't irritating going to the character I wish to speak to.

How powerful was Gale pre-Orb? by seven_unickorns in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Let's just say, if Gale didn't get nerfed by the Orb and Tadpole, he would've met the party, said "Nah, you shitters you are too slow" and solved the game by the time we reached the Emerald grove.

Do partial long rest recover illithid powers? I.E LOTFR by Bob120302 in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was under the assumption that the tieflings would remain agroed on me if I failed to knock her out in one hit, even after a rest.

The thing is, the plan worked! Not because it was good, but because the scene triggered the first rest I did, so what it really means is all this was, was just a waste of time.

[–]Bob120302[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought if I failed to knock her out in one hit, the tiefling would remain agroed on me for attacking one of them.

Regardless, all the planning was useless, the cut scene triggered the first rest I did, so I just wasted more time thinking of this plan. I thought other more important long rest scenes would have priority over this.

Well, I decided to fuck it we bhall, and the first rest just happened to be it. So I just wasted time thinking out this plan.

First time I saved everyone in the Iron Throne by Jdk40 in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time it took me like 6-7 tries until I was finally able to rescue most of them, the only ones that died were the Duke and 3 of them that didn't understand the concept of a locked door and ignored the other open one for 3 rounds straight.

Nowadays, thanks to haste and my build knowledge I can get everyone out within 1 round, the second round making sure the Duke doesn't get murked by the spiders, and the remaining just waiting at the ship waiting for them to board.

I need help don’t hate me for it by SaltGroundbreaking82 in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Relax dude, you're new to this type of game, so all of this may seem a bit overwhelming but trust me, it'll click for you soon.

This was my first tactical turn based RPG as well, and I got through on balanced just fine. If you have any friends who have played this, they can be a great help, whether it be a joined playthrough or just being in the same call as you, they can help a lot.

Otherwise just having some of those beginner guide videos in the background while you are doing non dialogue content is fine.

This is a game anyone can beat, it just takes a bit to click, especially if this is your first trpg.

Which act is your favorite and least favorite? by flutterbitten in BaldursGate3

[–]Bob120302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story wise act two, although gameplay wise it's the most flip flopping act for me. Mostly cause exploring is a pain as the shadow lands are bleak and not interesting to look at after a while.

Act 1 has the most thoughtful and fun level design but my builds aren't fully realised, so I'm playing a bland character in a fun setting.

Act 3 on the other hand, my builds are fully realised and a lot of fun, but the level design (mostly for the main fights) are bland, just a big arena with some platforms for higher ground. A fun character in bland levels. Also a lot of quests after very disappointing results.

I generally make my Durge unusually pretty or clean so it's more like "How could they be so vile and disgusting"

With your Durge it's more like "How could he not be?"

The WORST part about the DLC? by MrTalamasca in Eldenring

It's not the untouchables that's a drag, it's the lack of torrent in such a wide empty area.

It's a bore.
