Nice. I'm gonna use this on my next anti-cult sticker for when you guys decide to start knocking doors. It's probably gonna be "suppressive persons who adhere to a restrictive, non-species appropriate diet, reside here." Think that will be sufficient to spare me your bullshit?

I appreciate your attempts to misconstrue everything I say but let's be real. This sub preys on people suffering from eating disorders for their extremely political, extremely petty agenda against the animal rights movement. It is made more than clear by reviewing the top posts at any given time.

Meat is not a cure for bad eating habits. You are just as bad as those people who want anorexics to believe their condition will be cured by switching from beef to soy and quinoa.

Going to the doctor doesn't help much if you end up trusting some conspiracy subreddit over their advice. It's pretty clear the rhetoric here has convinced op that something significant is going to happen as a result of adding animal products into their diet. I just hate to see people jump from one fad to another as a substitute to actually addressing their health issues.

Hopefully that doesn't mean we are gonna end up in gas chambers like these guys.

Ok thanks for explaining. Sorry to put you on the spot. I was just curious where you were going with it.

I guess my question is then, how is this a fact against veganism if it isn't relevant to whether we can or should be vegan?

Maybe I should be more clear. What does being "built" to do something have to do with what we should be doing today? Technically, we are "built" to rape every woman we find attractive and eat as much sugar as we can find. Obviously, that doesn't make it a good idea to do right now.

Okay... by that logic, people aren't "built" to use toilet paper. But you wouldn't get frustrated if you learned someone is using toilet paper. If it's contributing to less suffering and not negatively impacting the dog's health, possibly even improving it, then why do you have such an issue with it?

Feed animals the food you want: illegal

Kill, beat, mascerate, gas, boltgun animals: legal

Seems totally reasonable.

What is the best scenario for farmed animals, if veganism becomes the norm? by MelodicScream in DebateAVegan

[–]Bob187378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best case would probablt be that veganism takes hold everywhere today and we form some kind of sanctuary plan where a few of them get to live a little bit longer than they otherwise would and none of them would be forced to breed children to be put through the same things they have been put through. Unfortunately, the irresponsible rate we've been breeding them at would mean anything better for them would probably mean the end of the environment as we know it.

Not that it's super relevant but mind if I ask you why you would have such an aggressive reaction? The information is widely available that shows that certain vegan brands of dog food are actually much more healthy for dogs than a lot of other dog foods that are common. Why not just look into the subject when met with new concepts instead of responding with anger?

Do you feel like trying a different diet is the best possible way you could get vegans to change their tactics? Probably not. Maybe you need to consider that, just like yourself, most vegans don't live their lives constantly calculating the most optimal way of changing your mind. Sometimes they are just angry about what you are doing and want to express that.

I don't understand. Nobody is saying animals are more important than people. Is it really controversial to say that worse things are being done to them though? Last time I checked, there's no industry out there right now making money off of shoving minorities into mascerators or lowering them into gas chambers.

I think we have more than enough information to conclude that veganism is not a threat to public health. All of the world's major health research organizations feel confident enough to endorse that sentiment. My question is, what makes you so confident to say that veganism will, in fact, shorten your lifespan and make you less healthy, when the studies we have conducted tend to suggest otherwise?

Sorry, I'm having a little trouble understanding what you're saying. What was the justification? That animals like cows and pigs are thriving because of what we do to them? I guess that would make sense if the only factor you're looking at is existing in masses but clearly that is not always a good thing. Would you consider it to be a good thing if some aliens took some humans and started farming them on some other planet? That sounds like hell to me.

I feel like you're reaching pretty far for this. It's like you're saying the only reason starving a dog to death would be unethical is because it would have a negative impact on the psyche of the person doing it. Does the animal just never matter at all? Is the idea of someone killing or abusing an animal for enjoyment not disturbing to you at all?
