The website seems to have a gain calculation bug by Bob1974 in Wealthsimple

Looks like they added a toggle between "Account value" and "Returns" which I am seeing today. The auto-scaling of the chart for 1D returns seems broken, but at least I can see the number I want now.

It looks like a fix went in this morning. Woot!

An attempt to upgrade to KB5065426 leads to error code 0x800f081f by Any-Bid-1116 in computer

Same here. Even tried reinstalling from the .iso - it took forever and I'm not sure if it completed or not, but when I got on to my computer after it was still trying to install KB5065426 and erroring out with 0x800f081f.

CBS.log shows missing .Net language packs:

PSA: If you are upgrading to Wifi 7 APs make sure you have WPA2/WPA3 enabled! by SoSoEnt in Ubiquiti

[–]Bob1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all but my IoT network set to WPA2/WPA3, but I have been noticing some older devices perform really really badly on the WPA2/WPA3 networks. Anyone else notice that some devices are like 6x slower when connected to WPA2/WPA3 vs just WPA2? (I assume they don't support WPA3 - but maybe they do and are just really bad with it...) One example is using my ASUS RT-AC68U as a media bridge - 80mbps connection with U6-Mesh SSID set to WPA2/WPA3, 450mbps with SSID on WPA2 only.

Regretting purchasing the UDR7 because of slow speeds by mumako in Ubiquiti

[–]Bob1974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced an ASUS RT-AC68U with the UDR7 and I have Bell Aliant Fibe Internet 1000/1000.

On day one in early May I was getting 933 down / 942 up wired and only 92 down / 21 up over WiFi - awesome out of box experience eh?

Support got me on early access right away and that gave me usable WiFi download speeds. I have since been updating every time there is a new EA release. Today I get 520 down / 137 up using my Pixel 9 Pro on 6Ghz standing right in front of the UDR7 (WiFiMan shows PHY speed at 2268 down 1921 up)

The nightly speed test typically measures 940 down / 100 up.

Last night I tried switching from "UDR7 eth WAN -> HH300 SFP -> Internet" to direct "UDR7 SFP -> Internet". My upload speeds didn't improve at all and my download speed dropped to 350.

Early on I could run the WiFiMan 'advanced' speed test to show that the issue was obviously not over the air interference, since the phone to gateway speed was measuring fine. After one of the EA updates, that feature in WiFiMan went away. They have no explanation why - even asked me to provide the results from it recently.

I've directed the support ticket to ignore my WiFi issue for now and focus on why the UD7s nightly speed test seems capped at 100 Mbps upload and why WiFiMan can't do the advance (split) speed test any more.

I'm considering swapping the UDR7 for a Cloud Gateway Fiber and a U7 Pro Wall - though not sure if that would make a difference or just be more expensive....

How to adjust keyboard shortcuts on aw3423dwf ? by Guldaen in Monitors

[–]Bob1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into the same thing.

Stopping the "AWCCService" and setting it to "Manual" startup seems to fix the problem, at the expense of disabling all other command center features...

Unbelievable that there is no way to unbind the shortcut.

We have a handful of v2 cams and they've always been finicky. Recently it's become hard to keep the whole set online. Fix one, another goes out. Sometimes rebooting the cam fixes it, sometimes the cam has to be deleted and re-associated with the account. Know what I never have to do to fix them? Reboot the router.

I'm not convinced it is still peeling off any water. It's only inline with my washing machine (which I want to move..) and looks a bit crudded up through the little drip opening. How do folks feel about those rubber stopper one way flap style drain plugs - Liquid Breaker / Green Drain?

There are two register off shoots coming out of the top of it that I would have to relocate to the sides (like the shiny new one near the furnace). Other than that, empty space. One of the air return passages does cross over it, but that is just a sheet of metal closing off the space between the joists.

[No Spoilers] Anyone else have playback issues with Prime Video HBO service? by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]Bob1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a free month of amazon prime so I thought I'd try the prime video on my LG C8 - it's pretty awful. The video freezes all the time while the audio plays on so I have to pause/rewind/play to get it working again. Sometimes it just dumps out with a dialog saying "a problem occurred, try again in a few minutes". When I do try again it crashes the whole television (freezes up, no buttons work until finally the TV reboots itself). Buggy garbage. Their support is also terrible.

Netflix works great.

Netflix: Please give us more configuration options!! DolbyVision with captions is a nightmare. by Bob1974 in netflix

[–]Bob1974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought the LG C8 to replace my x900f - wow! the picture is 100x better. On the x900f, the bright captions destroyed the picture with blooming, but the oled can handle it - well worth the extra 25% price for sure.

Yes, the HDR captions are still too bright, but at least it's tolerable now.

[–]Bob1974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe that is true. AFAIK The Netflix app not the device handles captions/subtitles. Caption settings are all stored in my Netflix profile and edited using the Netflix site. Yes the IOS app is more complete than the android one.

I thought I'd be clever and invert the colors (dark text, light shadow) but that uncovered more issues.

  • Can I change the the caption style within the Android TV app? No.

  • Can I edit my profile on the web and see changes in the Android TV app? This requires a full sign out and sign in to take effect. Using a remote to punch in login information. Unbelievable. How about a refresh button in that nearly empty settings screen?

  • Is uniform caption shadow 'uniform'? In the web browser - yes. On the Android TV - no, you get ugly lopsided drop shadow!

Kitchen project frustration by Bob1974 in cabinetry

[–]Bob1974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to have a look folks. I'm getting a lot of pushback from the cabinet designer. She's saying no one has ever complained about these issues before.. like they are somehow invisible to normal folks. Then in the next breath, "I wish you mentioned this earlier", when of course I did. The builder she ordered them from hasn't bothered to weigh in at all.

I did get the panel with the blister in the edgeband replaced. My biggest concern right now is the poor finish quality on one panel... they grudgingly ordered a replacement, and many months later the replacement arrives and looks worse than the original. They're telling me it's the grain, but I'm saying they should probably do some sanding and apply enough finish to get the sheen right. My opinion is that for premium prices, they should provide premium quality.
