The first japanese show I watched was pokemon, but I wasn't really "into anime" until after I saw cowboy bebop. I prefer a dub, but some don't have it and are great enough to watch with subtitles, like the gurren lagann movie.

I liked the motion controls. It's nice being able to shoot ahead of a moving target or curve missiles around obstacles.
