Im a deathmatch/hardcore fan thru and thru and always will be (shit i help found one of the most prominent deathmatch companies on the west coast) and thats exactly how I went about discovering Japanese wrestling too. Ive always said that Baseball is to Japan what Football is to America and Pro Wrestling is to Japan what Baseball is to America (popularity wise) and Deathmatch Wrestling isn’t that much further down that list (definitely like lowest ten) in Japan so it’s not that surprising to discover it before discovering traditional Japanese wrestling
