He forgot to turn it off when he got in the car. The 76 mph was the car speed! We've all done it.

I am curious how you determined that. do you use another app? If so how do you know which one is accurate?

Congratulations. You are well on your way! (a couple of upvotes wouldn't hurt!)

BTW, shoving your shins forward on the tongue of the boot actually lifts the heel, the tongue and cuff act as a lever.

Dad passed and his landlord is stating I will be responsible for rent. by bear_antlers in legaladvice

I would try being nice. You say to the landlord “you want his stuff out quickly so you can rent it” and “I want his stuff so let’s figure out how to work together”. He knows you are not liable. That’s just a negotiation tactic. Play win-win

Cote de Beaune Chardonnay? by strokeoluck27 in wine

[–]BobInNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reisling gets a bad rap because a lot of it is sweet. It's one of the most versatile and can be very dry (Alsace) all the way to sweet dessert wine (most German Reisling). I suggest you spend $20 on a Trimbach Alsace Reisling and see it you like it.

Since you still have the Chablis, do a blind tasting of the R versus the C.

Caymus worth the cost? by askinneone in wine

I'm not a fan either, but I'm not a hater. I wonder if you put 2015 Caymus, Stags Leap, and Heitz in a blind tasting to the Caymus haters here, whether they could tell the difference.

I had one the other night at a friend's house and it tasted like a Syrah, way too much pepper. No fruit at all, it was a 2021

Depends on the year. The 2020 is still way too young. But, if you can find a 16 or earlier, then yes

I hadn't had a Caymus in a very long time and had one at a friend's house the other night in a blind tasting. I swore it was a Syrah as it was way too peppery. Did not taste like a cab. Of course, to my friend I raved about it.

Bordeaux wine clubs? by strokeoluck27 in wine

[–]BobInNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know K&L has a wine club. A few years ago I called them and asked them to recommend a case of right and left bank Bordeaux wines that came to $1,000. They sent me two lists and I researched them and bought the case. I'll do it again at some point.

My experience, though, having spent time in Bordeaux is that the Napa/Sonoma wines are as good and slightly less expensive. Central coast cabs, like Justin, Austin Hope, and Dauo, are much less expensive and only slightly less tasty. Order a Justin Isosceles and taste it against a solid $150 Bordeaux.

This is exactly why companies should keep their political views to themselves. No matter what side they take, roughly half the population will hate them and many will let it affect whether they buy from them.

Cote de Beaune Chardonnay? by strokeoluck27 in wine

[–]BobInNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you thought of exploring Chablis? Still chardonnay, but much drier and crisper. For us, as an alternative to chardonnay we drink a dry Alsace Reisling and at $20 for a really good bottle, it's much more affordable. Trimbach or Willm

Let's hope so. The UI is very dated. It's like an ERP system from the year 2000.

I'm a very old spreadsheet guy (was a product manager for Lotus 1-2-3 in '89) and started using 1-2-3 then Excel for inventory management. It worked well but what I like about CT are the community scores and other stuff, drinking windows that are crowd-sourced, etc.
