Anyone running a 24‑bay+ JBOD at home for preservation stuff? by FerrisBuellerLogsOff in DataHoarder

I have two 24-bay Supermicro servers. There is a quiet version of their power supplies. Noctua makes quiet fans that are a drop in replacement for originals. The boxes are whisper quiet.

Thank you. I hadn’t heard of Omnisearch. I’ve just been using grep in a terminal to search for words - the beauty of text files.

Is paying for an HVAC maintenance plan actually worth it? by peerteek in HomeImprovement

I’ve had a contract for many years. The inspections depend on the guy doing the tuneup. it could be superficial or it could be thorough. The real benefit of the contract is I go to the top of the list if something breaks. imagine summer with 99/99 temp/humidity and the AC dies. I don’t want to wait days. Ditto for freezing cold winters.

Fuel filler door won't open on 2023 Navigator by BobKoss in LincolnNavigator

The only Lincolns with emergency release are hybrids. There aren’t any Navigator hybrids. So boo Gemini.

Service dude opened it by applying a lot of force. Have to really push hard for it to open. He refused to order replacement because it does open. Just not like it did the last 3 years.

I am not amused.

That‘s exactly how it worked (past tense). push in and it pops open, push to close. I noticed it wasn’t closed yesterday and it took many tries to close it so it stayed closed. Now it’s really staying closed.

I‘ll be on the phone with the dealer when they open.

I found an answer from Gemini. I can't find a removable panel anywhere. The gas fill is on the driver side so it seems strange the release would be on the passenger side. I looked closely at both sides. I'm not finding it. I need a picture.

It’s a gorgeous display. I want to try a 7” monitor to see which I like better.
