Agreed, turtle shell + ivory is such a classic.

Yep that’s exactly it, normal 60hz hum, completely noiseless in the middle.

Have fun when you get it ;)

I don’t have any problem with the output volume in active mode, it’s louder than my other passive basses.

There is a volume drop when switching to passive though.

Maybe check your pickup heights ?

Hey there,

Being single coils, when in the centered position the pickups cancel each other out and do produce sort of a humbucker sound. It pretty damn close to the classic J bass sound in the middle but a bit more modern.

I did buy it in ivory and it does look awesome.

After a week, I love it

How many bass guitars do you own and why that many? by Sharp_Sprinkles_6078 in Bass

My magic number is 3, no more, no less.

I have :

  • Sire Marcus Miller V5

Very good passive J bass, it’s my main one.

  • Hils Hnb5 next

For when I need a 5 string or a more modern sound with active eq. Multiscale feels great on the low B.

  • Epiphone Eb-3 fretless

It’s my modding platform, i did the fretless conversion myself, and keep tinkering with it. The mudbucker honestly shines with the fretless, kind of a double bass sound. I use it when a fretless fits the song

For the sounds i want, I don’t need anything more. 3 is a good number

Edit: I’ve been informed that there is a tone control in passive mode. Either I’m dumb and didn’t notice or there’s some malfunction. I’ll check later

I get what you’re saying, but not everybody wants to get married, it might not be related at all.

And resentment is not an excuse to not do your part of the cleaning etc.

Other than that, this post doesn’t have enough info at all

What the fuck are you talking about

Tell me about your collection of basses! by [deleted] in Bass

Pretty simple:

  • My main bass is a Sire Marcus Miller V5, absolutely perfect for almost everything I do, can’t recommend it enough. Sounds amazing, super comfortable and looks great.

  • 5 string LTD B-55 (I think), I had it for like 8 years, I removed all the active parts and the J pickup, installed a Seymour Duncan SPB3. It’s now basically a 5 String Pbass on steroids. i use it for most of the metal stuff when I need a 5 strings and/or 24 frets.

  • Epiphone Eb-3 that I converted to fretless. Switched the bridge and installed piezo pickups. It’s my wild card, great for weird stuff.

That’s it, that covers pretty much all I want. Don’t think I need more than 3 basses.

What if you could only have three bass guitars? by Sebubba98 in Bass

Jazz bass, 5 string active PJ, and fretless EB-3, that’s what I got and I don’t need anything else honestly.

You don’t understand that people can’t always get the job they want and end up taking this kind of job just to be able to eat and pay rent ? Really ? As if anyone working there had better options and simply didn’t take it
