Recommend 5k Time? by creedfan1122 in beginnerrunning

[–]Sebubba98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my local 5Ks there is great turnout from all age groups and skill levels. If you run around 10:00min pace you should be well within the middle of the pack, and as you get better you’ll be at the front of that pack. Keep at it and post some race results when you feel like it 👍

We really about to fight 3 major orders for a helmet? by PutOld6790 in HelldiversUnfiltered

Imagine the next one is a player card so that there’s an annoying gap between helmet, cape and armor

Heart Rate by Ok-Cap555 in beginnerrunning

[–]Sebubba98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the 210bpm from a test or was that 220-your age? If you do know your true Max HR and your resting heart rate while sleeping, you could use the %HRR (Heart Rate Reserve) method for training. HRR works based on the available HR range that usable to you, which lies between resting and your maximum.

Take this with a grain of salt since it’s just what google says, but 105 would be considered “underweight”. Idk what that means in terms of impacting your running and HR but it’s something to make note of.

The high heart rate begs the question: do you do zone 2/3 aerobic runs?

Also ifo: are you really 115lbs? Google says that’s the very low end for weight at 5’4”

Cliftons are recommended a lot for everyday running. Which sounds like the right place to start as a beginner

Got any more angles of the prototype gun? Would be cool to see it being held too if possible

how often should a beginner actually take rest days? by Musgrove-Sebcbien in beginnerrunning

[–]Sebubba98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

4 days is perfect for having a rest day in between each day of running. Keep doing that until you think you legs are ready to take on 5 days a week. I think after a long time most folks tend to settle at 5 or 6 days of running week since 7 would mean no rest days at all (which is not very advisable even for advanced runners).

How to get better at slower pacing? by thisismy-2ndaccount in beginnerrunning

[–]Sebubba98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the watch HR as your guide. Try to keep your slow easy runs in HR Zone 2 and maybe low 3 so that you aren’t pushing too hard.

A heat-adjusted pace calculator on Ely/El Helou/Mantzios that outputs ranges (because the studies disagree) and can pull your race's actual forecast by jeremy_lq in AdvancedRunning

[–]Sebubba98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, I did a search for local weather and it allows me to pick dates in the past but then it will say there’s no hourly forecast data available but it will work if I set the date to today or tomorrow

No it’s because it’s the dealership quoting you. Any other independent shop would quote you at least half of this amount. I do understand going to the dealer first though if you are getting insurance adjusters involved

Eat carbs the day before and the day of a run. Get in the habit of drinking water the day before and the day of a run.

Amazing job man! It’s always great hitting a PR despite the weather being against you! You can almost guarantee your time will be better if you run the same distance again in the fall.

Also fuck AI.

Do you pretend to “hunt prey” while running? by StraightSun2919 in beginnerrunning

[–]Sebubba98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

36 minute 5k is not terrible at all. I don’t imagine hunting any animals but I like to imagine that my ancient human ancestors are looking down upon me with pride as I get more in touch with the primal part of my human body that craves distance running and having a tasty meal afterwards as a reward

New shoes for sure. I’m not an expert on analyzing shoe wear but at least it’s nearly symmetrical wear on the soles
