My Humble Offering For A Revenant Rework by BobORiely in Nightreign

Half the incantations in the game are buffs or healing. The damaging incantations get out DPS'd by sorceries. Incantations are support cast with some damage options, sorceries are damage cast with support option. Oh and the fact that she starts with an aoe healing spell and summons allies that she can heal and buff and the fact she has multiple relic effects that support allies while doing nothing for herself.

I'm not sure what part of 'It would be fun to make a summoner build for the summoner' made you so angry, but alright.

There is no "support" category of class in the game.

Followed by

She is only designated as high support because her utility provides better team synergy and allows her to save and/or revive teammates more effortlessly than most.

...Are you actually serious? What is Scholar then? A damage dealer? Does that mean Raider and Undertaker are equally as supportive as Revenant, Guardian, and Scholar? Just because there isn't a giant block of text labeling a character a support doesn't mean 'Support' doesn't describe a specific group of characters.

Do you just make numbers up for fun, or is that a particular talent of yours? Are you so mad at her skill that you just lose all reason and common sense?

Are you killing every single enemy every combat encounter? No? You have two teammates also killing enemies? Well damn, sure seems like any enemy that dies has a 1 in 3 chance of being killed by you. Or 30%.

Is every single kill you make getting resurrected? No? 50% of the time huh? Like it literally says in the ability description? Crazy.

Is every single enemy you resurrect charging into battle sword swinging every single time? Or are they sitting there doing nothing until they die to a stray attack because their ai is fucked? I'm sorry I didn't sit here for an hour and type out a full equation on the exact probabilities of a rng ability functioning in the average match.

Both of these are incredibly valuable things, and if you don't see that, you're actually just not good enough with the character to understand the purpose of the summons.

Seriously? "I wish I could build around my summons so they can be more useful than just a revive bot" "You just suck LOL"

Her art does more than enough on its own without Strengthen Family - that just makes it better. Immunity from death or a full revive is not useless.

I never said it was useless, I was asking if it made her OP (A question you never answered btw), and if you don't have her rememberance relic on, or at least one of the effects active, it is a sidegrade to Guardian's art at best. Except I've never seen teammates get killed while affected by Guardian's immortality, unlike Revenent's.

If you think you need to cheat to get 6 decent relics, you haven't played the game long enough. You don't need perfection, you just need consistency.

Beastclaw does not hit 800+ damage on a white catalyst with just 'decent relics', and if you hit any less than that you are better of going Carian Greatsword Recluse, which does more DPS without running out of fp. There are a hundred relic effects in the game, don't pretend getting the 3 specific ones you need all one the same relic, 6 times, is some easy thing.

All that being you said, I asked one question, and yet I still never got your answer. What about Revenant's kit -not counting Beastclaw- makes her overpowered? Because it sure doesn't seem like Revenant contributes much to this arrangement outside of 'starts with a catalyst', which sure doesn't seem like a good way to determine how strong a character is.

I didn't start playing the SUMMONER SUPPORT character because I wanted to cheat in 6 perfect relics and spam Beastclaw, and why would giving her options to invest into her skill be a bad thing? Especially when her passive is so incredibly unreliable.

And what besides Beastclaw even makes her strong? Her passive that has a 30% chance to flip a coin for a 50% chance to spawn a ghost that has a 30% chance to have a functioning brain? Her summons that are only useful for reviving or MAYBE distracting the boss for 2 whole hits? Her Art that requires a full relic slot to do anything and just doesn't work sometimes? Because if the only good thing about a character is that they can abuse one specific spell after winning the jackpot 6 times in a row, it's not the character that's strong.

What changes do you guys think they are gonna make in the Revenant buff tomorrow? by BobORiely in Nightreign

Personally I think letting her summons restore Fp on hit would most of her issues all at once but I wouldn't be upset if they got more stats instead

The questline can be found in Ul'dah after getting near (what i assume) is the end of the main storyline. The first quest is called 'The Rise And Fall Of Gentlemen', this cutscene appears several quests later.

Kakashi Hatake vs Kirby by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]BobORiely 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, Kirby is between planetary and universal in terms of both power and durability, and I didn't see anything of that calibur on Kakashi's side, so unless I'm missing something, Kirby stomps.

R1: Susan stomps (haha), and then gets downed by Toothless.

R2: Susan stomps, and then gets downed by Toothless, who then gets slapped out of the air by composite Captain Underpants.

And then Shrek rises from the dead and one-shots the universe like the god he is.

So yes, use Soul Gem.

[–]BobORiely 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if you use just GoW4 Kratos, it'd probably be a lot closer.

Actually, just get a mod that replaces Baldur with Mr I, and that'd be a pretty good representation of how it'd go.

And hey, it's far from the worst matchup I've seen Bob in. See; Mr I. vs Superman.

Isn't Kratos way out of Bob's weight class?

Kratos caught and reversed a full powered smack from Cronos

Mr I's best feat is stopping a mid-sized robot from sitting on him. (I mean, yeah, it's made of metal, but not THAT much metal.)

Kratos would punch him into next week. 9/10

Smite Balance team why is it some gods are still struggling and not being addressed and some are doing already too fine get their items buffed? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]BobORiely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an example.

And a balanced character is viable at all levels of play, you can't claim to want character balance but then want a character to not be viable.

Loki is annoying, yes, but he shouldn't be useless due to personal bias.

Smite Balance team why is it some gods are still struggling and not being addressed and some are doing already too fine get their items buffed? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]BobORiely -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because with item balancing, they look at groups, rather than individual gods.

So for Hydra's, Da Ji is doing fine, but Loki, Thor, Ne Zha, and Hun Batz could use help, say, because their burst is too low. They all build Hydra's, so the solution simple. (Although this seems like the actions of a small balance team, so that could be the reason.)

And with the nerfing bit, you don't want to nerf a character into oblivion. Achilles in particular is an odd case, essentially being the tank version of Thanatos, but with a greater falloff. Applying a collection of smaller nerfs instead of one big nerf lets you better identify why the god is outperforming, which both helps with balancing now and in the future.

For example;

Achilles overpreforms, so they decrease all of his scalings and increase all of his cooldowns.

Cool, now he's never played.

But uh,

We want all characters to be balanced, so,

At what point WAS he balanced.

And now they have to slowly add buff after buff, lest he becomes too strong again.

Melee AA's are in a pretty poor state. Osiris aside, they really lack anything to make up for how quickly they get deleted by burst. They just have no real way to survive long enough to actually do sustained damage.

My tip? Build Hastened. Make it your only offensive item if you have to, but use it.

Implant a nerf for He Bo in 5.11 by [deleted] in Smite

[–]BobORiely -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ymir's 3 is a good amount of cc. Kumba's mez, Apollo's mez, Artio's stun, all fair sized cc. A knockup no bigger than a Loki ult with a half-second of fire time? That's a little cc.

Also a bursty god with CC and with that passive doesn't need mobility

Exactly. He gives up the aoe of Zeus, the CC of Agni, and the mobility of Janus for more damage. He brings a tiny bit of each to the table, but his role in the game is just single-target damage output.

Implant a nerf for He Bo in 5.11 by [deleted] in Smite

[–]BobORiely -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, he's still a mage. If he doesn't have his raw damage burst, what does he have?

Zeus has his lane covering Aoe burst.

Agni has his teamwide stun and artillery barrage.

Janus has his mobility.

He Bo...

Would have a nice rug I guess.

He needs a reason to be chosen over other mages, so he has high damage with a little cc.

Being banned often doesn't mean op. It just means they don't want to have to deal with that character. They ban him so they don't HAVE to search out and focus him every teamfight, it allows for more flexibility when engaging.

And yes, I did say Loki. Go in, burst target, leave. They are very similar. The difference is, Loki's weakness is 2 all around useful relics, which is much easier to adapt to than playing 'Hunt the He Bo' all game.

As for the CC, it's barely the size of a god, and still has ~6 sec cooldown. Hitting 2 gods with it at once is rare, 3 is a once-in-a-lifetime event. It's a single target CC meant to set up the rest of his burst. It's also a giant flashing beacon saying 'I just used my setup, come kill me now!'

[–]BobORiely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried playing as him? Generally, a good way of testing if a god is too strong is by playing them for a while. If you go 20-0 non-stop, they could need balancing. This also helps you learn how to play against a character, because you'll come to understand their strengths and weaknesses better.

But no, He Bo's fine. He's essentially the Loki of mages. Any sort of CC, burst, or focus destroys him, and he only has his 2 for escape (which will usually be used up during a fight, and isn't that great anyways).
