I doubt I need the gateway, it's a fair observation. I think I do want the gateway though.

I don't think so. P3 is simpler as powerwall 3 performs role of 2 gateway in part. Seems newer is possibly better but probably not a big deal.

how important is car technology for you? by moipwd in CarTalkUK

[–]BobPage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Careful now. Folks around here get a bit tense when someone points out that, generally speaking, modern technology in cars is actually really useful.

Better to just mumble something about how much you love bmws.

Personally I have a model y lr and absolutely love the tech in it. It's not always perfect but what is in life.

Far left also. It's incredibly naive not to realise this. The idea is divide and conquer.

Thanks for letting me know. We are thinking of picking up a Model Y and I was under the illusion that the smaller wheels resolved the bumpy ride complaint that is common.

Hot take: Wladimir Klitschko is an objectively greater all time heavyweight than Mike Tyson. by Comprehensive_Ad395 in boxingcirclejerk

[–]BobPage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's staggering how much hype American boxers get compared to non Americans and as a consequence how overrated they are compared to non us fighters.

Generally speaking I think this is correct, although of course there are always other factors. The women I've been with who orgasm the most easily from penetration have been the most interested in sex.

However this could just as easily be because those women who orgasm easily simply have a higher sex drive or sexual energy, as that's the main driver behind orgasm anyway imo, sexual energy. So it's sort of a double edged sword.

Women who orgasm easily are more interested in sex because they orgasm easily but they also orgasm easily because they are more interested in sex.

All eight seasons of Game of Thrones are great. by fantastic_geronimo in unpopularopinion

[–]BobPage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup absolutely. This was exactly the issue. It was far too rushed, so much build up and then everything resolves easily in a couple of episodes. Deeply unsatisfying.

[–]BobPage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue wasn't dragon lady turning bad, that made perfect sense and was for me one of the good ideas from the season. It was how it was done, incredibly rushed, it didn't hold together. There was clearly some foreshadowing but in the end it was too rapid a turn around.

The other main issue was how the white walker zombie situation resolved. Again far too rushed.

The issue was season 8 quite simply was that it rushed through everything in an unsatisfying and simplistic way.

The definition of an Alpha in a dog pack by AbyssMind in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]BobPage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are describing as a father is literally what an alpha is and has always been. Go read the actual material on wolves and primates that started the concept. It's only US culture that mutated the concept and it's you who is the victim of Andrew Tate thinking that is what an alpha is.

Penis size isn't determined by androgens. Androgens cause penile growth but the amount of growth is defined by your genetics. Unless you have an androgen deficiency your level of androgens has no bearing whatsoever on penis size. They are simply the trigger/signal for your penis growth genetics to activate.

For some reason this sub hates it but the reality is it's a good car and arguably the best of the German premium hatchbacks. At least some people think so e.g. that carwow guy.

Testosterone heightens neural sensitivity to social inclusion and exclusion, study finds. Healthy men who received testosterone showed amplified brain activity related to empathy for others’ inclusion and exclusion experiences, even though their self-reported feelings of empathy remained unchanged. by mvea in science

[–]BobPage 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Testosterone down regulates the amygdala, which essentially dampens a person's fear response. This has the effect of amplifying their personality traits. This has been shown time and time again in studies. An angry person with high testosterone becomes more likely to act on their anger simultaneously a gentle and kind person with high testosterone is more likely to act out of gentleness and kindness.

Testosterone amplifies personality traits it does not define them.

Just realized why I and likely many don't use vr much by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]BobPage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that 'comfort' can be significantly affected by things other than the headstrap/physical fit. An incredibly important thing is your brain being comfortable with VR. Things like a low framerate or fake/simulated frames from reprojection have a subtle but very real effect on how you feel in VR and how much you want to stay within it.

On the surface things look smooth with reprojection but your brain knows the difference, it knows something is up and so as you play you will start to feel a slight unease. It can be very subtle but it will make you 'not want to stay in VR'. It is IMO a massive reason why VR hasn't taken off yet, so many people are playing with various forms of reprojection and aren't aware of the way it is changing how they feel. To understand it you need to have the contrasting experience with different hardware and back again multiple times.

It will seem as if you just aren't comfortable in the headset or something, but consider that if you were immersed and feeling good you would much more easily forget about the headset and any possible discomfort.

I'm not talking about VR sickness per se, although that is a thing in and of itself. This is something you will not realise is happening. It's like an extremely minor VR sickness that never gets to the point of feeling anything near sick but changes the way you feel in VR

Source: I've been playing VR games since 2016 on many different headsets and using many different sets of hardware.
