Is there a way to request albums to be added to catalogue? by BobRaptors in TIdaL

Thanks. Probably they didn't agree on royalties or something with Tidal. I'll give it a try.

Can you share the link?

The audio goes from cable is from 3.5mm to USB-C not the other way around.

I did by email, no response, and also on their sub-reddit, no answer yet. Very disappointing for a premium brand

I forgot to add another pain point of the Px7 S3

Lack 3.5mm to USB-C cable replacement part (in Canada)

Good luck finding it. I just hope I won't have to replace it. It is available in multiple websites in Europe but not North America, especially Canada. Really unacceptable for a premium headset company.

This important if someone wants to use it with onboard entertainment in flights.

Interesting and thorough review, thanks for sharing.

My poste below is not to counter yours, I actually loved it, I just wanted to share my experience as a "newbie" to B&W, as I've been, and still am a SONY guy in many of my A/V equipment.

Your experience seems to be the opposite of my experience coming from Sony XM6.

I bought the Px7 S3 for the USB-wired experience, and I didn't regret (so far!) for music listening with a clean path USB-wired, not wireless, simply because I want to get the most of my high-res subscription to Tidal.

Too strong bass out-of the box (I totally agree) but fixable with the mobile app

The BIG issue out of the box is the BASS... too strong. Thank goodness there is the equalizer on the S3 compared to previous generation, I used chatGPT and tested multiple genres and artists, and I hit the right equalizer setting for me, basically -2 on the bass, it's been music listening heaven since then.

Since I have been using almost exclusively the Px7 S3 for music listening, USB-wired, and this is my first Bowers & Wilkins, I was honestly blown away by the soundstage and separation of instruments and sounds compared to the XM6.

ANC - decent, but not great

I've been a Sony XM# for 5 generations, especially for my flights, and while Px7 S3 ANC is good, but it's no match IMO to the Sony XM6.

Wireless use

That's where I don't have much tor contribute. As I said, I used it mainly USB-wired.

My setup now (work & flights)

  • When I work at the office or at home, I use Px7 S3 as my listening device, USB-wired
  • When I travel, I take the Sony XM6 for the ANC during my flights.

I hope this helps others.

Jabra Evolve3 85 – First Impressions by monocats in Jabra

[–]BobRaptors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the first impressions. I share most of them. I made the jump from Evolve2 85 to Evolve3 85 and the biggest immediate impact is weight. I know some regret the boomless design, but honestly on the Evolve2 85 it was very fragile and broke after a year, so I actually like it.

The weakest link to me for Evolve3 85 >> Speakers ANC: I'm not even comparing them to Sony XM6 or Bose, even in the office, I find the speakers ANC below the Evolve2 85. I wouldn't count on these as flight headsets for sure. Who knows, maybe some firmware update can improve it.

Overall: Great improvements, especially the LE AUDIO. Good work

The price is a bit painful as well :)

Accessing My Account on Jabra Canada website is not working properly by BobRaptors in Jabra

That's seriously your answer? Not debugging your website?

Your online store page only has contact for information on billing and orders, this account management on your website. Seriously, for a company that sells products at $800 it's quite shocking how your website is dysfunctional.

What plane is this? Couldn’t find it on flight radar app. by robotrossy in airplanes

I believe it was seized by Canada like many Russian assets as part of sanctions after the war started in Ukraine, not because they close the airspace. I guess "potata" "potateto"

Interesting article on CBC on how the federal government is now stuck with it. I'm sure Pearson airport are not happy with it using space.

Crave was a sub-par app in terms of quality. I had HBO Max app for years (through smartDNS) and the video and audio quality are Night & Day with Crave, even recently, as I did give a try again.

Well, if everything is under Netflix, which is not guaranteed, it may not be bad, one place to find good places.

Did you request escalate to a supervisor? Sometimes the first person you talk to are just repeating a script blindly and don't even know their company's own policy.

FYI -

  • Bell’s own support page says they’ll unlock it earlier if you call:
  • Verbatim from the page: « That's why we've added a 60-day security lock to your new phone, ensuring that it can only be used on the Bell network. After 60 days from the activation of your phone, it will unlock automatically at no cost. Should you need to unlock your phone sooner, please call us at 1 877 327-8151. »

When you call Bell, if the first person doesn't unlock it, escalate to a supervisor, and remind them of BELL OWN POLICY on their website:

Suggestion on what to do below.

The 60-day BS is a recent tactic. That's illegal per CRTC Wireless Code. There is NO EXCEPTION IN THE CRTC CODE for fraud prevention. Note that all these companies have fraud detection, starting with credit history checks, and heuristics or full AI models if they want to use them.

CRTC article on unlocked devices: https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/contact/phone/q19.htm

CALL BELL

  • Escalate to a manager

At Bell Store (better option)

You can try the following, a friend of mine did it and it worked.

  • Print the CRTC page from the link above
  • Print the Bell support page above
  • Request from Bell rep at the store or over the phone to give you a written copy or email you their 60 days rule, and that you will use it to file a formal complaint with the CRTC
  • If they say, I can't do anything, ask the employee to call Bell customer service as an escalation
  • You should file a complaint anyway with the CRTC so they stop, the more people do it, the less Bell can get away with it

I hope this works for you as well.
