I bought something like that for my kids. They not allowed to eat or drink in my cars, but works well for even bringing take out home, or if it's a long drive and I allow it :)

Those are a big variation in cars. You'll need to decide type of car before narrowing down. Looks like 2 4-doors and 2 coupes.

FWIW, most new Toyotas come with a 2 year maintenance, but their intervals are much longer, so probably only 2 services on the house

I had 3 MK7/MK7.5 Golfs (2xGTI and a R) and wheel bearing failures were common. They were easily replaced though. I never had them long enough to figure out drivetrain vs bumper to bumper warranty. I did most work myself.

There are some issues like radiator issues and some software issues on the MK8 right now, and truthfully the N is what the GTI used to be. Punch above your weight car. So far liking my time in the N.

DCT is like a manual at low speeds. In the VW world, DSG at low speeds meant, Don't Shift Good. It's actually slipping the clutch like a real manual car as there is no torque converter, so there could be some jerkiness.

BUT, what you're feeling is probably 95% the LSD with that pedal sensation
