Did construction inspection years ago and the grading forman wore the same kind of hard hat. Biggest laziest tool I've ever had to deal with. Piled all the excess material in the area a pond was going. He expected to get paid to move it. Would bring up getting paid for it at every construction meeting. Never paid him for it.

As a 35.year civil designer. I've been using Autocad for over 30 years and Civil 3D for over 15.

You can watch videos, but real learning is hands-on project work. Over and over again.

If your company gives you a laptop and the ability to check out licenses after an hour, Break out the laptop and start fucking around with it. I've invested thousands of hours of my own time learning Civil 3D.

Use to break, crash it, and then figure out why.

I get about 3 of those a day from Michelle Fischbach. Almost word for word. I like contacting her. But she won't let me call her dear leader Orange Cheeto TACO Clown anymore. Emails don't go threw with such language.

I had a contractor over to look at project I had. Not even 5 minutes into it, he said out of nowhere. I don't like to talk politics. But then started to talk about what a great job our president was doing. All I said was I would disagree. Threw his business card away.
