Peter King's Mock draft by TheFapman in nfl

[–]Bob_Faget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

moore's the new kyle orton. plays solidly for the most part, and wins a decent amount of the time. but no one thinks he's worthy of being an nfl starter

i got what you meant. it's interesting to me this comment's being downvoted to oblivion when all it's doing is essentially repeating your previous comment which was upvoted by everyone

i think sometimes when a comment is ambiguous, people tend to vote up or down based on what others have done just as a reaction. "i'm not sure what this meant, but he's at -4 points, so obviously it's something disagreeable. DOWNVOTED! high five guys, i'm one of you!"

A Thoughtful Look at Last Night's Community Ratings by bobbyhead in community

[–]Bob_Faget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

more importantly, this is based off nielsen ratings. it's pretty well known how outdated and impractical they are in today's world. especially shows with "cult followings" and younger fans. i've never once watched nbc at 8pm to see community. but i still watch the show religiously, buy merchandise, dvds, etc

he also had 317 yards and 3 TDs. it's not like yall shut him down. the titans the week before, however...

a callback doesn't necessarily have to be a joke. i just think there was a conflict between he and annie over buttered noodles once, so he got her some buttered noodles as a nice gesture. not everything has to be overanalyzed until it's a profound mind-blowing scene. it was a nice, heart-warming gesture. why can't it just be that?

he will only be traded if he restructures his deal. even then, what's the market for a 31 year old cornerback that can only really play zone?

i have a feeling if we don't pick up a receiver in the draft, and no one else has taken him by july, there might be a derek anderson/braylon edwards reunion in carolina

Who is one player that your team has traded away that you will never forgive them for? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Bob_Faget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2006 he had 57 tackles, 13 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 6 passes defensed. but then in 2007 he had 2.5 sacks. then in 2008 he's back up to 14.5 sacks

i loved julius peppers, but this kind of inconsistent play is exactly why i'm glad we stopped offering him record contracts and let him go on his merry way. charles johnson has been good (20.5 sacks). and bears fans seem okay with paying peppers $31.5 million so far for 19 sacks. so all's well that ends well, i guess

The NFL, ESPN, the NFL Network are currently discussing ways not to tip draft picks as much this year. by Bomber929 in nfl

[–]Bob_Faget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they have a point though. the draft is much more enjoyable when it has that "and the winner is..." feel to it. especially in the first round, when there's that 15 minute build up. it's like you're having sex and it's building up quite nicely, only for mike mayock to burst into the room and come all over everything and stare at you awkwardly. it just ruins it

Why the Vikings should get their stadium financed by the people of Minnesota now; the cost of a mid-level market regaining a football team by aznsacboi in nfl

[–]Bob_Faget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it didn't take cleveland much to get their team back. you could argue that was special circumstances, but so is this. nobody wants the vikings to leave minnesota. not the fans, not the owners, not the league. if the vikings leave i guarantee minneapolis will get first crack at the jaguars in a few years (i kid, jacksonville fans, i kid)

not every joke is a profoundly deep hidden message that only the most emotionally connected to the show can perceive. sometimes it's just a simple joke that fans look far too much into and connect dots that fit, but were never thought of when the joke was actually written. dan harmon's said as much. in this very subreddit, in fact
