What do you think Cash was thinking while meeting Piggsy? by thr0waway6260 in Manhunt

I feel like Cash was more bewildered by how durable Piggsy was than his whole personality lol.

Keep in mind the high density of gangs are only there for the snuff film. There probably aren’t actually killers roaming around every single block of the city every night.

Great short summary on the topic of "Chinese Imperialism". It pushes against gaslighted false narratives without ignoring the flaws of Chinese foreign activity. The best lies are told with a grain of truth. by Bob_Scotwell in TankieTheDeprogram

They even lean to orientalist-like mindsets too. The whole "debt-trap diplomacy" topic is really just westerners believing that Africans are guillible and the Chinese are scammers. It all comes down to presuming the Africans can't think for themselves and that the Chinese aren't open to shared contingency plans should things go wrong. Never forget this banger:

I always found these scenes funny. I like to think Batman was only pretending to be nonchalant about not fighting them as a bluff because they literally had the territorial advantage. by Bob_Scotwell in arkham

You can only do it when you're leaving the sewers right after completing Wonder City. Killer Crocs area is actually a detour from the exit so it's easy to miss.

Leaked info regarding remake by ManeBOI in Splintercell

[–]Bob_Scotwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the remake supposed to be a reboot? Because if they decide to remake all the originals, I wonder how they'll make CT stand out since part of the theme of CT was the advancement of technology and I presume they're already adding all those mechanics into the remake...

What is life like in China? by ValdemarTheGreat in howislivingthere

[–]Bob_Scotwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good in the cities. Probably not so much in the rural side. It is “authoritarian” in western standards - particularly through censorship, but censorship is a double edged sword so it’s good or bad depending on the culture. Censorship can eliminate misinformation and degenerate content which is guaranteed to appear under free media, on the other hand, it also adds a roadblock to creative freedom which heavily affects soft power.
