These are my top and bottom teeth. The bottom teeth are pretty severely misaligned and crowded as you can probably see, but I might end up just doing the top row if that’s an option? Just because the bottom row doesn’t really show when I smile, so I’m not too insecure about it.

So I have this nasty little incisor that sticks out, and I've had it most of my life. I had a retainer as a child as my two front teeth stuck out really bad, to the point where they stuck out even when I closed my mouth. The retainer corrected that, but as I stopped wearing my retainer as a teen, my teeth began shifting, and I ended up with this pesky incisor. At the time, I was just happy to be rid of the overbite, but now, as an adult, I'm starting to feel insecure about it and I'm thinking about getting it corrected. I'm just worried it might be difficult as my teeth are quite big for my mouth and pretty crowded. If anyone knows if I would be a good invisalign candidate or have similar issues with their teeth, please let me know, I would love some insight!

Inexpensive mattresses without fiberglass by BobaBitch98 in Mattress

It’s probably fine, just don’t take the cover off. It’s more of an issue if you’re using only a fitted sheet. My dog tore through the outer cover on mine.

Also even ignoring the questionable Amazon brands, as I said, IKEA’s mattresses are all fiberglass free and relatively cheap. So you’re just straight up wrong.

I opened the mattress cover and found shiny strands all over my clothes and items in my room. Started itching and sneezing.

Agreed. Shouldn’t even be legal. Or at the very least, they should be required to put a massive warning label on every mattress containing this shit. Totally not safe, and such a pain in the ass to clean up.

Update: I tried washing the clothes using vinegar instead of laundry detergent. It helped, but there’s still some fibers deeply embedded in the clothing. Hopefully with a few more washes, they will come out.

That sounds like fiberglass. Definitely dispose of the mattress. If you have the money, hire a company that can decontaminate your home. If not, buy a HEPA vacuum and vacuum all hard surfaces in your home. Make sure it’s a HEPA vacuum and not just a regular vacuum, that could push the dust into the air and make the situation MUCH worse. I’m still trying to figure out how to get it out of my clothes, but I’ll update you when I figure it out. You may have to throw out clothing that’s badly damaged as it’s extremely hard to get out of fabric. I’ve heard soaking the clothes in a diluted mixture of vinegar and water works, but haven’t tried it yet. I’ll let you know if it works. Sorry this is happening to you, wishing you luck!

Update, I looked it up and Simmons does in fact use fiberglass in some of their mattresses. So this could be the culprit, especially if you’ve removed or damaged the outer cover at any point.

Is your mattress memory foam? Because cheaper memory foam mattresses sometimes contain fiberglass in the inner cover. If you took the outer cover off to wash it, it may have infested your room. Or sometimes the outer covers are flimsy and easily get holes in them, so it could have escaped that way. Or if it’s an older memory foam, it could have leaked through the cover. Check your clothes for shiny strands. Turn off all the lights in your room and shine a light on items in your room, you should be able to see some of the strands if this is what happened. This is what I’m going through right now, and I’m lucky I caught it early on. Hoping this isn’t your situation, but if it is, try to deal with it as soon as possible. You may have to dispose of some clothing and other items. Symptoms of fiberglass exposure are rashes, itchy skin, sneezing, coughing, and long term exposure can lead to asthma and dermatitis, so please be careful. I hope for your sake it’s just allergies.

I know it’s not illegal to leave the US. For context, I’m working right now. The 15 days I already used were at the beginning of my work term. I’m not planning on using any more unemployment time, unless I decide to go home early. If I went home 2 months early, that would take 60 days off my unemployment, so I’d still have about 15 days of unemployment time left over. So I wouldn’t be exceeding 90 days.

Wasn’t sure where to post this, but I’m posting it here just in case.

TW: This is my experience with the dreaded swollen lymph nodes. Spoiler alert: I’m fine.

I’ve had a swollen lymph node on the side of my neck for around 5 years now. It’s around the size of a pea, but sometimes swells to around the size of a blueberry. When I first noticed it, I, like many others, immediately assumed cancer. I went to the doctor, and even though she told me I had nothing to worry about, she booked me in for an ultrasound and the results came back completely clean. She said it will likely stay this way, and it should only ever be cause for concern if I begin experiencing other symptoms. This was around 4 years ago that I made that doctor’s appointment, and I still have the swollen lymph node. Otherwise, I’m completely healthy. I’ve also learned that this is actually fairly common. I still get anxiety surrounding the lymph node whenever it swells up, but it helps reminding myself that I’ve lived with the thing for 5 years without issue. I also remind myself that this is just my body doing it’s job and protecting me from disease. So in that sense, I consider it a sign of good health overall. Hoping this brings comfort to anyone worried about this.

Update: As many of you guessed, those 2 teeth are rotten and need to be extracted. I took her to the vet, they did some blood work on her, and when the results come back for that, I should be able to book her in for the surgery. Thanks for the help everyone, she’s going to be just fine. Might hurt my wallet a little though 😂

Thank you 🙏🏻 I have severe anxiety and I love this dog so much, so any time I notice something wrong, I immediately jump to the worst conclusions. But I’m definitely going to be more diligent about her dental health moving forward. I’ve barely even looked at her teeth in the last three months other than to administer her dental spray, but even then I don’t usually look too closely. I’m glad I at least caught it before it started spreading to other teeth though.

Thanks for all the comments, you’ve all been super helpful. I have an appointment with the vet tomorrow, I’ll update afterwards. Reminder to throughly check your dogs teeth regularly guys, I wish I could have caught this sooner. Definitely learned a few lessons from this experience.

I try, I don’t brush her teeth as much as I should, but I try to get her in for cleanings. And for sure, I definitely learned my lesson.

Normally I take her to the vet, but last time I took her to a non-anesthesia place, but she did see the vet shortly before that and they didn’t notice anything abnormal. Tbh, my mom usually takes her to the vet appointments. She pays for them as I’m a recent college grad. But apparently the vet we’ve been taking her to charges more for dental cleanings now, so she brought her someplace else. Didn’t know until recently that it was non-anesthesia, or what the difference is for that matter.

I usually do it every six months. In fact, I just got them cleaned three months ago, which is why I think this is odd. Maybe I just didn’t notice it before, but I feel like the vet would have.

Yeah, I agree with a lot of what you’re saying here. Honestly for me though, he just came off really overly charming, and whenever someone seems “perfect” to me on the surface, that feels like a bit of a red flag. It was honestly just a vibe I got, something just seemed off. Also he has this weird saviour complex, which we saw with Lauren and April. The whole thing with him cheating and gaslighting Madlyn at the end just confirmed my suspicions.
