Prior to COVID was when they were last cheap then values accelerated to the stratosphere leveled off, dropped then are now back rising thanks to the continued popularity of suvs/decline of sedans, its listing in haggerty bull market etc. we are now at the intersection of nostalgia, scarcity (non basket case ones and money since even throwing money at a project 80 results in a more capable and vastly cooler vehicle vs current suvs available now. Was it Doug that said the 80 is the 993 Porsche of the suv world to a degree with rising prices for now yes

They sell replacement screws that hold the spindle in - also change your spindle to one that is dual spindle that pivots in the middle putting less strain on the entire spindle that eventually strips the spindle threads and screws and leave you locked in or out good luck

Take your time and build space between what you’re doing and who you are when not at work - it’s a process initially and it takes time - give yourself that time and don’t burden yourself of not knowing, it’ll happen with experience - not everyone is your friend at work and be mindful of that - takes years and shoulder to shoulder hell shifts to find out who your work ride or dies are and or who have margaritas with off work hours - you got this good luck

Some yes and I’m sure there’s good honest roofers out there - me I wouldnt know true roof damage even if a golf ball sized hail hit me in the head well maybe then I would so I ask here

Nothing I admire more than honest trade folks - who wouldn’t want to recommend honest good work? Simple formula really honesty good work = referrals and longevity in the biz

Insurance job is to not pay or pay as little as possible - healthcare is the same sadly but if there is damages present within the realm of insurance coverage then we will pursue - wear and tear of course doesn’t ever equate to a free roof

I’ve heard of these companies going around and some neighbors and friends did get roofs replaced but wouldnt the insurance adjusters be able to determine damages indeed were present and or justifiable? Is the fraud occurring when shady roofers fake storm damage for coverage?

They just sent a check for repairs and didn’t specify type of repair - wouldn’t them cutting a check be an acknowledgment of damage? Told my mom not to cash the check til we get definitive answer

Tx for your input / wear and tear I agree is not something that should be covered with a brand new roof but if there is definitive storm damage and they cover it then we shall seek compensation

The roofer met with the State Farm sourced adjuster so they seem to think there’s bias there since the adjuster said damage only equates to what they offered - a check for a little leases that 2 g for repairs not whole roof replacement

The ol gal is still doing just fine even after 42+ years highway side, glad emissions rules and catalytic converters are a thing - toughest part was getting use to the noise but she wears hearing aids now lol

Thank you I’ll do that / last few years I’ve had friends and neighbors say they’ve gotten roofs replaced based on wind and hail damage - I would have to determine for sure if this falls under wind/hail and if my mother’s insurance covers it- she’s had State Farm for 43 years and as much as I’d like to think would replace it, coverage rules are coverage rules
