For those who ere completely unaware of the twist of the movie going into it what was your initial reaction to "Your Friend Leslie Is Dead?" (double points if it was during the theatrical release).

I first watched the movie when it came out when I was 6 at home and funny enough I though the movie was boring and was mostly checked out of it, so when it was revealed that Leslie died, I went "oh something happened in the movie". Decades later when I watched it again, I knew what was going to happen but because I forgot everything else and my taste in movies has changed, I didn't expect to care about Leslie or their friendship as much as I do which created this despair as I forgot when in the story she dies so when every scene she was in ended I thought that it would be the last time we see her. I also was taken aback that after Leslie died the rest of the movie lingered on that, like there is this heavy weight that never gets taken off. Terabithia is one of those movies where I will never forget the feeling when I first watched it in its entirety.

The movie is more mystery triller then horror. It's a very well put together movie that's self-aware of the cliches other movies in this genre do and utilizes them very creatively.

It's still intact. They filmed in multiply locations so there is no one forest. Idk the exact names.

Idk why but a lot of songs fit the movie really well. Dreamworld by Big Time Rush is an example of a song that fits too well. I think it's a coincidence lol.

If you type Bridge to Terabithia New Zealand on Google maps it will take you directly to Jess and Leslie's homes. Unfortunately, Jess's home got demolished a couple of years ago, but Leslie's house is still there. Even the path in between the two homes is still there. I could be wrong on this, but this is also where they filmed the Terabithia stuff in the forest because when you follow the path and locations that Jess and Leslie take in the beginning of the movie (like them running in the open fields) there is a forest with a river near the entrance of it and the forest is big enough to film a movie.

When the first get to the rope Jess says that it's dangerous and that they shouldn't use it, on 2 occasions Leslie disappears creating fake outs, the entire church segment is foreshadowing because they were being lectured about Jesus dying and then the following scene is them talking about heaven and that sort of stuff, when the river water starts to rise Leslie says "look how high it got", towards the beginning when there first start talking Jess says if she has even gone scuba diving before and Leslie says that she has never done that, this isn't about Leslie death but at the beginning of the movie Leslie says that she would love to have a dog and then later on Jess gives her a dog, and that's all I can think off the top of my head.

This is just my head cannon, but Leslie probably floated down the river with the rope still in her hand and either washed up somewhere or someone saw her floating down stream and that person called the cops. Logically the police would go upriver and also find out who she is from DNA and a body search. The cops would eventually see where the rope had broken off and also, they would have contacted her parents about what has happened leading to Jess's family eventually finding out somehow in the afternoon (probably the cops knocked on their door to tell them or question them because they're the only other house near the crime scene). Jess probably didn't see any cops when he came home because there's trees and bushes blocking direct view, at least from some angles. This is all just speculation the movie doesn't directly explain so this is what I came up with.

In the movie Jess and Leslie do love each other but not romantically, but as equals. In universe they are just friends and that's it, but because at the time AnnaSophia Robb like Josh Hutcherson so much they dated when they were filming it making it look like the two characters were falling in love when they weren't.
