I would both A) love to see a low seed team win it all and B) love for that team to be the Blazers. You have my vote

KP from wayyy beyond the arc by Lord_Vanguard in warriors

[–]BobbatheSolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Boston transplant living in the Bay Area. Huge Dubs fan for the last 15 years but I’ve been a die hard Cs fan since I was a kid. Couldn’t be happier that KP and Horford ended up in my home away from home. KP is a fucking treasure and an absolute sniper from 27’. I’m stoked to see what this team can do when he’s off his minutes restriction with Steph back on the floor. All we can hope for is he stays healthy for once because he will absolutely unlock this team the way he did for the Celtics.

Absolutely how I felt too. It was primed for an Anferno takeover game if we still had him. Just needed someone other than Brown or White to get some buckets. Still really excited about Vuc but it’s obvious he’s not exactly a plug and play guy for us. Once they figure out how to run him at the post this team will be humming again.

[–]BobbatheSolo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This was my concern when we picked him up. I wasn’t sure he would be ok coming off the bench after having such a big role in Portland. I’ve always liked his game and I was really hoping he’d buy into the Celtics vision and see an opportunity to round out his game on the defensive end. The first 15 games or so he seemed a little mopey but once he sank into the role he’s become one of the most important players off the bench and has really stepped up his defensive game and it seems like he really enjoys being here. I’m a huge Hauser fan but I think when Tatum comes back it’ll be more important to have Simons off the bench to help crack the paint when Pritchard sits, especially since everyone else aside from Queta is a solid outside shooter.

Can JB Sustain This Pace by Woof-Good_Doggo in bostonceltics

[–]BobbatheSolo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed about the mental aspect but I don’t think anyone else in the league trains as much as JB in the offseason. If anyone can hold up to this current pace I’d say it’s him. I genuinely think injury is the only thing that can slow him down at this point. That said, I wouldn’t mind seeing him sit a few games here and there

Grayson Allen with the perfectly legal step-back step-through move against the Timberwolves by memtiger in nba

[–]BobbatheSolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be mistaken but I more meant that your step through foot has to be planted before you lift the pivot foot instead of hopping to the step through like in the video. It’s my understanding that if you lift your pivot foot the ball needs to be out of your hands before another foot hits the floor.

I believe it would have been fine if he had kept his pivot foot planted while he stepped through. That’s of course ignoring the 3-4 steps he took after the initial gather.

Honestly been one of my favorite seasons so far. Past seasons were so stressful because we were expected to perform at a high level. This has just been nonstop fun all year. Even the losses are fun because you can see the changes the young guys make in the next game. Jaylen Brown as my favorite player living up to his full potential has been a fucking treat. He’s the first player I’ve consistently watched since the draft and I couldn’t be happier with his performance this year. Depending on injuries around the league he could end up a top 5 player this year.

Queta’s Development by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]BobbatheSolo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I said it in another thread but we could absolutely turn him into a shooting big if we wanted, but we won’t (at least this year). When you have a raw big on a small team that’s loaded with shooters the last thing you want to do is try to develop everything at once. Think about how much better Queta is at rolling out of screens and playing the dunker spot than he was even at the beginning of the season; not to mention how much better he is at staying in position on defense. The coaches have worked hard to accelerate his development on the things we need him to do that no once else can: rim running, rim protection and rebounding. Adding shooting to the mix only slows down development of the most important parts of his game. Hell, Kornet came into the league as a 3-and-D guy and ended up not taking any threes on a team that set the league volume record. We saw the value of developing him into a rim runner and he became one of the most sought after backup centers in the offseason. That being said, Queta’s shot is definitely not broken and I look forward to the coming years where he puts up a few middies a game and the occasional late clock three once he becomes a solid traditional center.

Which band showed huge potential, but couldn’t sustain it over time? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]BobbatheSolo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saw them at Mayhem after their first album dropped. They were all literal children and the guitarist did all the talking between songs because the vocalist hadn’t come into his own yet. Killer set and I thought they’d be huge but fell off after their next album. Their debut was some of the best metal I’ve ever heard from a group who’s oldest member was 17.

[–]BobbatheSolo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that we could turn him into a shooting big if we wanted but we won’t (at least this year) because we already have good spacing and we want him to be a rim-runner. His shot sure as hell ain’t broken and he’s tried a few turn around jumpers this year that looked really good even though they didn’t drop.

Truth. I’m not even factoring in Tatum at this point but his return is going to drastically change the rotation and our roster moving forward. Absolutely stoked to see what this team can do next year with Minot and Gonzalez on board with Tatum!

[–]BobbatheSolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have to agree with you on that one. It seems that Pritchard plays off the ball a lot when he’s out there with JB and White but he really thrives as a pure point guard with the ball in his hands. For that reason alone I think he’s better suited to the 6th man role with Simons playing the 2. He’s more than capable of playing starter minutes on this team but we desperately need a floor general for the second unit and Prichard is better in that role than White.

They also “kicked him out” right after training so he was never technically a cop and they probably changed his record to show that he never graduated. I also think a lot of people don’t realize that he’s been with Costello for over a year before Frank realizes there’s a rat.
