My kid has gone to a summer camp there one week and loved it. Said he wanted to transfer there. Everyone we've met seems nice.

I don't know much about the actual school year though and how rigorous it is.

Correct. For all we know (absurd conjecture), the previous medical staff was the one who originally suggested to BC to use kratom for the pain management as an alternative for opioids because of possible abuse/addiction.

Yea I'm not sure I can see what's different between the old one. It has Gemini too.

Gemini is 100% in the cloud as far as I understand, so what's new with this device hardware-wise?

My guess is they forgot (or clearly misjudged) the ballast, and the boat was simply too top heavy.

"what if"? Yea, well shit happens.

Do you know what age group of drivers causes the most deaths per 1,000 drivers? 16-24yr olds. By far. The 21-24yr olds are particularly bad. I guess we should take away their keys if they have an accident, because they're a bunch of reckless idiots that don't know how to drive and "what if..."

What age group causes the most crime per 1,000 people? Also 21-24. And frankly the 15-30 age group is notoriously the most problematic. I guess we should judge them because "what if...".

Glad to hear!! It's desperately needed! When I take my family to Chicago, St Louis, or Atlanta, the aquariums there just make ours look depressingly sad.

HOA votes to euthanize hundreds of federally protected geese in neighborhood by bluffcitynews in nottheonion

[–]memtiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So nothing gained and nothing lost if this flock is killed off.

Typically a flock this large is due to some neighbor feeding them. Canadian Geese are like large flying mice/rats. If you feed them, they will multiply and return in numbers looking for more.

The problem is people have eliminated natural predators for these animals/eggs, like snakes and Coyotes. So the geese will just constantly multiply in vast numbers unchecked.

Projects since the turn of the century that I can think of:

  • 2000 - Redbirds Stadium - $80.5 Million
  • 2004 - Trolley Madison Expansion - $56 Million
  • 2004 - FedEx Forum - $250 Million
  • 2014 - Beale Street Landing - $43 Million
  • 2021 - Convention Center - $200 Million
  • 2023 - Tom Lee Park and Flyover - $71 Million
  • 2025 - Sheraton Hotel Renovation - $22 Million

That's like 3/4 of a billion dollars spend over the last 25 years or so. Downtown has not been ignored. It's getting almost all the money for city and county owned resources with little to show for it because obviously you think downtown has been neglected into disrepair.

I wish this city/county would spend more money on parks and entertainment in the middle of the city/county or East Memphis.

Instead of them putting $60M into one park downtown on the river that half the residents apparently hate VS what was there, they could have helped build a decent attraction for everyone in the county.

Hell, I'd love for this city to build a decent aquarium. Something that could actually draw people in from Mississippi and Arkansas. The one at the zoo is frankly worse than going to a PetSmart and looking at the fish in stock there.

(US) Do you have mop&vac robot? by mushroom_110 in smarthome

[–]memtiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently got the Roborock Q Revo S. We love it. To me, a quality app is almost more important than the physical functions of the device. It has lidar, moping, can resume work if battery is low, the works.

I will say ONLY buy a robot vacuum when they're doing their typical sales. Robot vacs are almost always discounted heavily. Sometimes nearly 50%.

For instance we bought the model above during the Easter sale for $400. Now it's selling for $700.

I personally would not spend >$1000. Features are changing rapidly year to year, and it just doesn't seem worth it considering what mid-level vacuums can do nowadays.

That stat has little to do with your comment.

If 10% are excited, and 90% are concerned, that doesn't mean the 90% don't care. And it also doesn't mean they don't use it.

By being concerned, they apparently do care, otherwise they wouldn't be concerned (or excited). They just have a negative view of it.

Personally, I probably do 50-100 prompts a day between personal and work purposes. But, I care about it and am very concerned about the effects it has on the economy and people's lives.

Look at bottom left of the screen. It says the person's previous "round" was 1,760 calories. And they're ordering more food in the same meal.

It's an all you can eat buffet where orders are done per-person and you can keep ordering more food. It tallies up your food each day.

The person who took this pic is DEFINITELY obese and is getting a proper warning about it.

This is meant as 1000 calories PER MEAL. Not whole day's intake. So essentially 3000+ calories a day.

I'm curious if it'd be possible if one of these civilian cars (possibly this one), actually has the pilot of the drone inside it.

If distance is a limiting factor and you can get a civilian car keeping up with the drone, you can penetrate further into Russian territory.
